The Alaska Department of Corrections has a toll-free automated inmate information and notification service. Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Victims and concerned citizens can call the toll-free number 1-800-247-9763 or click on the website link and receive an inmate's current location and tentative release date. Victims and concerned citizens may also register to receive an automated notification when an inmate is released, transferred to a halfway house, escapes, is placed on electronic monitoring, transferred to another jurisdiction, or dies while in custody. The VINE system is anonymous and confidential.
