Rob Cox

Rob has been with the Alaska State Troopers for over 16 years and is currently assigned to the Palmer Patrol Unit. Although Rob prefers the challenges and diversity of patrol duties he has also worked as a Narcotics Investigator, in the Burglary Suppression Unit, and on the Warrant Team. Rob was also part of the Southcentral SERT for 10 years where he served as the Entry Team Leader and Lead Firearms and Tactics Instructor for the Detachment and SERT. He has also served as a Field Training Officer for 15 years. Rob holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University and an APSC Advanced Police Certificate. Rob has attended numerous APSC certification courses and is a certified APSC instructor for Methods of Instruction, Firearms (handgun, shotgun, patrol rifle, and submachine gun), Rural Police Tactics, Basic SWAT, Intermediate SWAT, Patrol Immediate Action Rapid Deployment (Active Shooter), and FTO Documentation. Rob has instructed regularly at the DPS Training Academy as a guest instructor and is a factory certified armorer for Glock, Colt AR-15/M-16, Remington 870, and S&W 4006.
