Jeff is a retired lieutenant from the Alaska State Troopers with 20 years of service. His final three years with the troopers were spent as the commander of the DPS Training Academy in Sitka. He worked in patrol, traffic, judicial services, narcotics, warrants, and as a major crimes investigator. He also spent 11 years on the SERT team. Jeff has been a firearms and control tactics instructor since 1980. He has completed over 1,500 hours of specialized training in weapons, use of force and special operations. He is a member and frequent contributor to American Society of Law Enforcement Training and International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors. Jeff holds black belts in two martial arts disciplines and is a competitive handgun shooter. He has a bachelors degree from Washington State University and graduated from the Administrative Officers Course at the Southern Police Institute in Louisville, KY. He is a firearms instructor with the National Rifle Association. Jeff is APSC certified to teach firearms, control tactics, officer safety, and chemical agents.
