Out-of-State Testing

For those potential applicants who live outside of Alaska (in the lower 48 as we say), the path to taking our written test is much different. Public Safety Testing (PST) can arrange to have their test proctored at a testing center. To arrange to take the proctored test this way costs $75. The physical fitness test is not completed at the time of the written test, but administered later by DPS. It will take PST 2-3 weeks to arrange this.

These testing centers can be found here: http://www.ncta-testing.org/find-a-cctc-participant

Out-of-Country testing

Unfortunately, those who live outside of the United States cannot take our written test. This is a limitation of PST, not the Alaska Department of Public Safety. We apologize for this inconvenience.
