Investigation revealed Michael Freeman, age 56, of Anchorage had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to appear to a civil hearing. Further investigation revealed Freeman's driver's license was suspended. Freeman was placed under arrest for the warrant and issued a misdemeanor citation for driving while license suspended. AK Wildlife Troopers -------------------------------------------- Location: Sitka Incident number: AK12202548 Type: Residency Investigation Text: On 1/17/13, 57YO Dennis Meier, partial owner and operator of Tanaku Lodge in Elfin Cove, was charged by Sitka Wildlife Troopers with one count of False Statement on a Sportfish License Application, and five counts of Unsworn Falsification. The charges were the result of an investigation into Meier's claims of residency. The investigation revealed that in 2008 Meier had obtained a Resident Sport Fish License when he did not meet residency requirements. Meier also obtained Resident Commercial Fishing Permits from 2008-2012 under a claim of residency when he did not meet requirements. Meier has a mandatory court appearance in Sitka District Court.
