A Detachment Location: Ketchikan Case number: AK13005370 Type: Theft I Text: On 1/23/2013 at approximately 2000 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of three diamond rings that were taken from a residence on D2 Loop. They were most likely taken on or around 1/17/2013 and were discovered missing on 1/23/2013 at approximately 1900 hours. The value of the rings is over $20,000. Suspects have been developed in this case. This case is still under investigation. The vehicle was pulled over after AST received a REDDI report (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) on the vehicle. Investigation revealed that Tyler Bray, age 22 of Ketchikan was in possession of Marijuana and paraphernalia. T. Investigation revealed, a 40-year-old Metlakatla woman had assaulted a family member at or around 2000 hours on 1/22/2013 at a residence in Metlakatla. Investigation revealed that sometime between 1/22/13 and 1/24/13 someone had gained entry into a parked pickup truck and stole the vehicle's stereo system. The stereo was valued at $200. Investigation revealed a passenger in the vehicle, Jody L. Speerstra, age 35 of Wasilla, was impaired and in possession of a firearm in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed Speerstra was in possession of heroin, a Schedule IIA controlled substance. Speerstra was arrested for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV and Misconduct Involving Weapons IV and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held on a $5000.00 bail. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Robert Pierce Jr 22 YOA, Kimberlee Miller 18 YOA, Maudrey Kriska 19 YOA, and Stewart Lord 24 YOA all of Nenana. Investigation revealed Pierce had provided alcohol to Miller and Kriska. Subsequently, Pierce was charged with Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor x2. Miller and Kriska were issued criminal citations for Minor Consuming Alcohol. Further investigation revealed Pierce had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was subsequently arrested for the warrant and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center Facility where he was remanded on $500 bail. Investigation revealed Nathan Macon, age 31, of Fairbanks was driving a blue Ford Excursion southbound on the Parks Hwy while negotiating a corne r lost control of the vehicle and collided with the guardrail. Troopers from Girdwood responded to the scene as well as the Anchorage Fire Department and Officers from the Anchorage Police Department. AST investigation revealed a red, 2007 Hummer H3 was traveling north on the Seward Highway. Near milepost 111.6 the vehicle drove off the roadway into the ditch. The vehicle smashed into a large boulder on the northern side of the highway. There was significant damage to the vehicle and the driver and only occupant was entrapped in the vehicle. The driver, Elisha O'Hara III, 55 of Anchorage, was declared deceased on scene. Next of kin have been notified. The crash was off the roadway so the road was able to remain open during the on scene investigation. Investigation is continuing. The State Medical Examiner's Office was notified and responded for the body. Investigation revealed that Matthew F. Gallien, age 51 of Seldovia was involved in an altercation with a family member, and hit her with his vehicle. The victim was treated and released from South Peninsula Hospital with non-life threating injuries. M. Gallien was arrested and transported to the Homer Jail where he was held without bail. Investigation revealed that Johnson failed to report on a permit hunt she put in for through the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Additionally it was discovered Johnson had an outstanding $250 arrest warrant for Failure to Satisfy a Judgment on the original charge stemming from a driving violation. Johnson was arrested and remanded to Cook Inlet Pre-trial Facility where bail was set at $250. Johnson was also issued a bailable citation in the amount of $110 for Failure to Report a permit hunt within the proper time constraints. Investigation revealed Dosch had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest on the original charge of Theft IV. Dosch was transported to and remanded in MSPT with his bail set at $2,500 cash.
