Herbrecht, age 28 of Wasilla while conducting an investigation of a theft at mille 41 Parks Highway Wasilla, AK. Herbrecht was subsequently arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant on the original charge of Improper Use of Registration. Herbrecht was transported to and remanded in MSPT with his bail set at $500.00. Fireweed Rd. Wasilla, AK. Troopers located and identified the vehicle at mile 41 of the Parks Highway in Wasilla. Troopers made contact with the operator of the vehicle who was identified as Robert Skoog, age 29 of Wasilla. Skoog was subsequently arrested, transported to and remanded in MSPT to be released on his own recognizances. Investigation revealed that the driver, William Olinger, 25 of Big Lake, was driving with a suspended AK drivers license and also had a $1,000.00 warrant out for his arrest for Failure to Maintain Liability Insurance. Olinger was arrested for DWLS and the warrant and was transported to MSPT where he was lodged on $2,000.00 bail. The driver was identified as David Weems (51 YOA of Healy). Investigation revealed that Weems was driving while under the influence of alcohol. Weems was arrested and booked into the Fairbanks Correctional Center on the charge of DUI. The ATV was released to a sober person on scene. Text: On 1-26-12 at approximately 2101 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a call from a Fairbanks resident who reported his residence in the Ballaine RD and Goldstream RD area had been burglarized within the past month. The Fairbanks resident further reported a vehicle in his driveway that did not belong to him. Troopers responded and conducted scene investigation. Investigation revealed that the residence had been burglarized and multiple items were taken from the residence which exceeded a value of $1600. Further, the vehicle found in the driveway had been reported as stolen. Troopers conducted a stakeout on the residence to see if the suspect for the stolen vehicle and or burglar for the residence would return. At approximately 2355 hours, troopers observed Kirk Robb, 45 YOA of Fairbanks, force entry into the residence and steal even more items from the residence. The vehicle Robb drove to the scene was also stolen. Robb was arrested and remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Center for 2 counts of Burglary 1st degree, 2 counts of Vehicle theft 1st degree, 1 count of Theft 2nd degree, 1 count of Possession of burglary tools, and 1 count of Improper use of evidence of registration plates. Both vehicles were returned to the respective owners. Investigation revealed Cameron Larrick, 21 of Anchor Point, placed a female in fear of serious physical injury with dangerous instruments, one including a firearm, during two separate instances; Larrick was intoxicated at the time. During the same investigation, Michael Smith, 56 of Anchor Point, created a hazardous condition for Troopers and resisted arrest while being placed under arrest. Both Larrick and Smith were remanded to Homer jail. Investigation revealed Wilson was operating a motor vehicle while his privilege to drive was revoked. Wilson was issued a misdemeanor citation to appear in court and was released from the scene. AK Bureau of Highway Patrol ------------------------------------------------- Location: Wasilla Case number: 12-8528 Type: Reckless Driving, MVC-I Text: On 01-26-12, at 2106 hours, Alaska State Troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol, South Central Team observed a small dark in color SUV traveling at a high rate of speed south bound on Vine Rd. near Shady Grove Ln. Troopers went to locate the small dark in color SUV to perform a traffic stop and came upon a motor vehicle collision on Vine Rd. at Phenix Ave. Troopers identified the small dark in color SUV as one of the vehicles involved. Troopers identified the driver of the small dark in color SUV as Petru D. Damian, age 18, of Wasilla. An investigation revealed Damian was unable to stop his green 2001 Honda SUV due to the high rate of speed and was attempting to pass, to avoid a collision, a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by Kellie A. Clark, age 48, of Wasilla, which was turning left onto Phenix Ave. from Vine Rd. The front of Damian's Honda struck the left front of Clark's Tahoe. Clark was transported to Mat-Su Regional for treatment of her injuries. Clark's passenger reported no injuries and was released on scene. Damian reported no injuries and all parties involved reported wearing their safety belts. Damian was placed under arrest for Reckless Driving and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held on $500 bail. Damian was issued a citation for not having proof of insurance. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected. Author: PRF0 Received Friday, January 27, 2012 1:27 AM and posted Friday, January 27, 2012 2:00 AM ----------------------------------------- Location: Nikiski Case Number: 12-8318 Type: MVC-Damage Text: On 1-26-12 at 1453 hours the Soldotna Public Safety Communications Center was notified of a crash involving a school bus near Milepost 23 of the Kenai Spur Highway. A member of the AST Bureau of Highway Patrol, Kenai Peninsula Team responded to the scene. Investigation revealed a 2000 Amtran school bus, driven by Camille Taylor, age 46 of Kenai, was stopped near milepost 23 with its red flashing lights activated preparing to disembark a child at a stop. A 2011 Dodge Ram towing a trailer, driven by Devin Clinton, age 31 of Colorado, was unable to stop and impacted the rear of the bus. The truck and bus received relatively minor damage. The bus had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported from the occupants of the bus or the truck. Clinton was issued a traffic citation. One lane of the roadway was partially closed for approximately one hour. Several Nikiski citizens stopped and assisted AST with traffic control. Investigation revealed that Charles Smith (age 22 of Soldotna) was under the influence of heroin and was in possession of methamphetamine and heroin. Smith was released from the scene and charges were forwarded to the Kenai District Attorney's Office for review. On 01/27/12, Smith was indicted by a Kenai Grand Jury for two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree.
