On 2/1/13, Cole was indicted by a grand jury on the charges of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First Degree and three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree from an investigation that Juneau AST had initiated on 10/23/12. The driver was identified as Glen Goozmer (age 29 of Wasilla). Investigation revealed Goozmer was operating the vehicle with a revoked driver's license, and was also in possession of a metal knuckles. Goozmer was subsequently placed under arrest for DWLR and MIW IV, and was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded into custody. Bail was set at $1000. Investigation revealed William Kiernan, age 57 of Chugiak, was driving southbound on the Parks Highway near W Corn Street in Houston in a red 2004 Kenworth semi-truck when a moose ran into the roadway. Kiernan was unable to avoid the moose which was killed in the collision and donated to charity. No injuries were sustained, Kiernan was wearing his seat belt, only minor damage was sustained, and no citations were issued. Text: On 1-31-2013 at approximately 1958 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a possible assault in McGrath. Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene and investigation revealed that Anthony Hooper, age 20 of McGrath, had assaulted a female family member, broken several items inside a residence, and prevented an individual from contacting law enforcement. Hooper was arrest without incident and charged with Assault in the 4th Degree (DV), Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree (DV), and Interfering with a Report of a Crime Involving Domestic violence. Austin was an hour and a half overdue after leaving Togiak around 4 p.m. Togiak & Manokotak search & rescue teams were activated. At about 2210 hours, Togiak searchers advised they located Austin safely walking back to Togiak on the Togiak trail about 5.6 miles east of Togiak. Austin told the searchers that his snow machine swamped in a creek between Kulukak River and Nunavachak Pass. As a result of the contact, investigators seized a small amount of methamphetamine from the male, along with several syringes and empty baggies of commonly used in the sale and distribution of illegal drugs. Troopers from the Girdwood post and the Alaska Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to the scene along with EMS. Initial investigation shows that a Subaru station wagon being operated by Maria Kobzeva, 24, of Seward, was southbound on the Seward Hwy near mile 105 and began to pass another southbound vehicle. Kobzeva struck a northbound Mercedes sedan which was occupied with two adults identified as Anchorage residents Per Bjorn-Roli, 69, and Maria Bjorn-Roli, 61. The collision occurred in the northbound lane. Kobzeva's passenger, Douglas C Fletcher, 44 of Seward was pronounced dead on scene. Next of kin have been notified. All three survivors were transported to Anchorage by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Investigation is ongoing.
