Investigation revealed, prior to leaving the residence, Mckenzie Larsen, age 18 of Palmer, assaulted a family member and destroyed two picture frames worth approximately $30. On 2/3/13 at approximately 0135 hours, Larsen was located in the Alcantra Recreational Facility parking area. Larsen was arrested and transported to Mat Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded and held on no bail. Troopers contacted Florania R. Ramirez, age 49, of Anchorage, and Trevor T. Babcock, age 35, also of Anchorage. Investigation revealed both individuals had outstanding arrest warrants. Ramirez was wanted by AST for Failure to Satisfy a Judgement in reference to the original charge of Assault in the Fourth Degree. Babcock was wanted by the Anchorage Police Department for Failure to Remand on the original charge of Operating Under the Influence. Ramirez and Babcock were transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Ramirez was held on a $500 bail, and Babcock was held without bail. John Gerald Mayo, 51 of Fairbanks, was subsequently arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on a charge of Theft in the Third Degree. Troopers contacted the driver, Joshua R. Sherber a 21-year-old male from Fairbanks. Sherber was subsequently arrested for DUI and remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Center. The makeshift range is on the property of a local resident in the area of Heath Way and Gateway. The explosion was of such magnitude that at least 12 residences were affected. All had multiple items fall off walls and shelves some of which resulted in property damage. At least six of the residences received actual damage to the structures themselves. The blast blew out windows, soffits, vents, and other parts of the homes. The Alaska State Troopers and The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are continuing the investigation. Text: On 02/03/2013 approximately 1838 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) stopped to assist with a vehicle stuck in a ditch on the Old Richardson Highway near Lakeview Drive. A DUI investigation was initiated and during the contact the driver, 28-year-old Brandon Sine, failed to immediately notify AST that he was in possession of a concealed pistol. During the contact a possible Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance violation was discovered and investigation continues. Sine was arrested for the weapons charge and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center (FCC). This section of the Seward Highway is within the Seward Highway Traffic Safety Corridor. The crash investigation determined Robert John Reith (age 43 of Anchorage, AK) was operating a late 90's model passenger van traveling southbound when the van lost traction on the ice covered pavement. Reith was not able to maintain control of the vehicle. The van went off the northbound side of the highway. The right side of the van struck the northbound side guard rail causing the van to overturn. The guard rail was damaged and the van was totaled. Reith and his eight passengers were all wearing seat belts. There were no injuries. The investigation revealed Erin Kiokun, age 20, of Soldotna, was intoxicated. She was issue a summons for Minor Consuming Alcohol (MCA) and released. Further investigation revealed both Theodore Atoruk, age 24, of Soldotna, and Isaiah Shaving, age 21, of Soldotna, provided the alcohol. Both were charged with furnishing alcohol to a person under the age of 21 and released at the scene.
