A Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Hydaburg=09 Case number: AK13009387 Type: Assault in the Fourth Degree-DV. Text: On 2/8/13 at 2000 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Klawock received a report of a DV in progress in the community of Hydaburg. AST responded and the investigation revealed that an adult female had been assaulted by a fa mily member, outside of their residence in Hydaburg. Troopers were unable to locate the suspect, who had fled the residence on foot prior to AST's ar rival. AST transported the victim and her children to a safe location for the evening. The investigation is ongoing. Text: On 2/8/13 at approximately 1100 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Klawo ck received a report of a Burglary and Theft from a residence in Coffman Co ve. The complainant reported that at some point between 12/23/12 and 1/10/ 13, an unknown individual had forced open a door to the residence and stole several items including food and a car battery. The value of the stolen i tems is estimated to be approximately $100.00, and there was no damage to t he residence. The investigation is ongoing. Investigation reveale d that the driver, Jeep Whitesides, age 21 of Ketchikan resisted arre st and fled the scene on foot. With the assistance of Ketchikan Poli ce Department J. Whitesides was located in the waters of the Tongass Na rrows. Whitesides was arrested when returning back to shore and transpor ted to Ketchikan Correctional Center. J. Whitesides was also found to be on Felony Probation. Further Investigation revealed that a passenger in side the vehicle was in possession of Methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Charges are being forwarded to the District Attorney's Office. Whi tesides was remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center with no bail. Text: On 02-09-12, at 0142 hours, Alaska State Troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 1996 Ford Mustang o n Tait Dr and Citrine Dr in Palmer for a stop sign and equipment violation. The Ford failed to stop and a short pursuit ensued. The Ford lost co ntrol and went into the ditch at the end of Citrine Dr and Terrell Dr as it failed to negotiate a right hand turn. The driver, later identified as Lance E. Skarbo, age 43, of Wasilla fled the vehicle on foot towards Seward Meridian Pkwy. Troopers apprehended Skarbo after a brief foot pursuit. Troopers located a loaded flintlock pistol in the Ford and discovered S karbo is a convicted felon banning him from possessing a concealable firear m. Troopers also located 2 grams of Heroin along with Methamphetamine an d Marijuana in the Ford. Skarbo was then transported and remanded into the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held on $5000 cash bail plus a court approved third party. Mochin was last seen at the Sea Inn Bar leaving around 0200 hours. Dillingham & Manokotak had a complete whiteout of snow with zero visibility. At about 0645 hours, the SAR team found Matthew broke down on his snow machine on the Manokotak trail just outside of Dillingham about 2.5 miles. Matthew was brought back to Manokotak safely. He was additionally charged with Providing False Information to a Peace Officer, after Troopers responded to a complaint of a disturbance. Investigation at the scene revealed that Linda Koenig age 57 of Willow failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway and drove off the shoulder of the road causing her vehicle to overturn. Koenig was wearing her seatbelt and received minor injuries. Damages to her vehicle are estimated at $2500. Troopers contacted the suspect vehicle in Wasilla and identified the driver as Darren Ted Harris, age 42 of Wasilla. Invest igation revealed Harris was Driving Under the Influence and his driver's li cense had been previously revoked for a prior DUI offense. Harris was ar rested for DUI and Driving While License Revoked. Harris was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial facility where he was remanded into custody on $52 50.00 bail. Harris' vehicle was impounded. Scene investigation revealed Lawrence Agosti age 16 of Anchorage was southbound in his 2001 Dodge pickup on the Glenn Hwy when he lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway. Agosti's vehicle then collided with the rock face and rolled over onto its roof where it came to a stop. Agosti was extricated from the vehicle and flown to Providence Medical center in Anchorage for treatment of his injuries. Agosti was wearing her seatbelt, and his vehicle was towed from the scene. The vehicle is estimated to be a total loss. Troopers identified the caller as Kari M. Stiles (46 YOA of North Pole). Stiles notified Troopers she contacted them to report she was driving intoxicated and that her driver's license was currently revoked. Stiles admitted to driving a 1986 Ford Ranger to the Justa Store parking lot. Troopers suspected Stiles was impaired by alcohol and conducted a DUI investigation. Stiles was subsequently arrested for DUI and Driving with a Revoked License. Stiles was arrested and remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Center. Demetrius Neal-Rickman, (17 YOA of North Pole) was identified as the driver of a 2006 Dodge Caravan. Neal-Rickman reported losing control of the vehicle and driving off the roadway and then colliding into a light post before his vehicle came to a rest. The vehicle has major front end damage and some under carriage damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene by A & C Towing. No injuries were reported and Neal-Rickman reported wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.
