The passenger's wallet was later recovered on the ferry, but the cash from the wallet had been stolen. The value of the camera is estimated at $500. Investigation revealed Haley J. Lovas-Brewster, age 20 of Wasilla, had operated a blue 2003 GMC Sierra while impaired by alcohol. Further investigation revealed Lovas-Brewster was under the age of 21 and had consumed alcohol. Lovas-Brewster was arrested for DUI, MCA, MOCA, at which time she resisted arrest by force. The driver was identified as Amanda Matthews, age 31 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Matthews was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for DUI. Investigation revealed that someone had broken into a privately owned vehicle parked at a residence. Morgan Jr. of Chuathbaluk was not with his third party custodian as ordered by the court. Morgan had valid court ordered conditions of release pertaining to felony charges of Sexual Assault 1, Sexual Abuse of a Minor 2, Sexual Abuse of a Minor 3, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Morgan's conditions state that he must be within 24 hour sight and / or sound of his third party custodian. A State Trooper contacted his third party custodian who stated Morgan left about 20 minutes earlier and was away from the residence cutting wood. Morgan subsequently returned to the residence a short time later and was arrested on a charge of Violating Condition of Release. A 2003 Volkswagen passenger car driven by David A. Yudin (21 yoa of Fairbanks) collided with a 2006 Kenworth tractor with a tanker in tow driven by Michael S. Luper (25 yoa of Eagle River). Yudin was driving southbound on the Parks Highway when he lost control on a curve. His vehicle careened out of control toward the northbound lane as Luper was approaching. Luper braked and attempted to take evasion action to avoid the collision. However, the passenger side of Yudin's vehicle collided with the front of Luper's vehicle. Both vehicles then slid into the ditch at the southbound side of the highway. Yudin was declared deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel. Yudin was wearing a seatbelt. Luper was not injured and was not wearing a seat belt. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this crash. The State Medical Examiner's Office was notified and an autopsy will be conducted on Yudin. A records check revealed McCain had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Failure to Appear on the original charge of DUI. McCain was arrested and remanded to the Anchorage Jail. Central Emergency Services and Troopers from the Soldotna post responded to the scene. Investigation revealed that Shelby Gillins, age 21 of Soldotna, was traveling northbound on the Kenai Spur when she lost control of her vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. Gillins' vehicle went sideways and was struck by a southbound 2002 Ford Windstar minivan driven by Sharon Efta, age 56 of Kenai. Gillins was declared deceased on scene. Efta was transported to Central Peninsula Hospital with non- life threatening injuries. The Kenai Spur was reopened at 1130 Hours. A suspect was located in the community of Sterling and found to be distributing hundreds of files of Child Pornography. The suspect was identified as Michael Padilla, age 55. On 2/20/13, Padilla was contacted and arrested on charges of Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography, as well as charges for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. He was remanded at Wildwood PreTrial Facility without incident. This investigation was conducted by the Alaska State Troopers with assistance from the Kenai Police Department and the Soldotna Police Department, who are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children- Alaska Task Force. As a result of the contact, investigators seized over a pound of marijuana. In Unalakleet, the seized marijuana carried an estimated "street value" of over $25,500. During the contact with female, investigators seized approximately one-half pound of marijuana from her. Further investigation revealed that Edward Saul Blatchford, age 29, of Unalakleet was responsible for coordinating and directing the female to smuggle the marijuana out to Unalakleet. On 2/21/13, WAANT investigators searched Blatchford's residence in Unalakleet and found further evidence of marijuana distribution. Blatchford was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for two counts of MICS 4th stemming from this investigation.
