AST contacted John Gervais, age 48, of Michigan. Gervais was the operator of the vehicle. Investigation revealed Gervais' Michigan driver license was denied/revoked and he was required to have an ignition interlock device installed. There was no interlock device installed. He was issued misdemeanor citations for Driving While License Revoked and Driving in Violation of a License Limitation. He was released at the scene. The location of the call was unknown but the cell tower, which registered the call was located near mile 75 of the Sterling Highway in Sterling. Attempts to recontact the number were not successful. AST responded to the area of the Sterling Highway located bewtween mile 60 and mile 70 of the Sterling Highway, an area known for poor or no cell reception. At approximately 0130 hours AST observed an area near mile 62 where it appeared a vehicle had driven off of the road. After checking the area AST found an adult male identified as Jason Wallace, 36 of Wasilla, inside an SUV which had driven into a deep ravine on the north side of the highway. The male was unable to exit the vehicle due to an immobilizing leg/hip injury. He complained of trauma to his leg, hip, and face. He also indicating he was very cold. AST provided warm clothing and attempted to keep him stable. He stated he had been trapped in the ravine for almost 45 minutes. He stated he attempted numerous times to call 911 with no success and had no way to signal passing vehicles for assitance. Medics arrived on scene and he was transported him by ambulance to the Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna where he was treated for his injuries and exposure. AST contacted Micheal Hibbetts, age 59, of Seward. Hibbetts was the operator of the vehicle. Investigation revealed Hibbetts had no valid driver license and that he was in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. He was issued misdemanor citations for Operating a Vehicle without a Valid License and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance Sixth Degree. He was released at the scene. The driver was identified as Emma Alto, age 27 of Soldotna. A records check revealed Alto had an outstanding warrant for arrest for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving Without Insurance. Further investigation revealed Alto had placed a 2014 tab from another vehicle on her vehicle. Alto was arrested for the outstanding warrant and issued a Misdemeanor Citation for Improper Use of Plates. Alto was remanded to the Anchorage Jail. Bail was set at $5,000.00. Author: MAZ0 ------------------------------------------------- Received Sunday, February 24, 2013 6:24 PM and posted Sunday, February 24, 2013 6:16 PM ------------------------------------------------- Location: Homer Case number: AK13012873 Type: MICS 4; Clandestine methamphetamine lab Text: On 02/23/2013 at about 1446 hours Anchor Point based Troopers performed a traffic stop at the intersection of the Homer Bypass and Waddell Way for a traffic violation. In the course of the contact, Troopers found the driver of the vehicle, Timothy Igou, age 26, of Homer, to be in possession of a personal use amount of methamphetamine. Upon further investigation, Troopers found indications that Igou was operating a clandestine methamphetamine lab and producing methamphetamine in the vehicle. Due to the hazardous chemicals and volatility involved with clandestine methamphetamine production, the area of the traffic stop, Waddell Way adjacent to the Homer Post Office, was closed from public access. A search warrant for the vehicle was obtained and Investigators from the Alaska Bureau of Investigation's Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit responded to the scene. The investigators confirmed the presence of a clandestine methamphetamine lab in the vehicle. Upon confirmation, the investigators were able to gather evidence and disassemble the lab. A Drug Enforcement Administration hazmat team responded to the Peninsula to collect and dispose of the hazardous materials from the lab. The area was re-opened to public access at about 2200 hours. Timothy Igou was incarcerated at the Homer Jail where he was held without bail on the charge of Misconduct Involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree (for possession of methamphetamine). Additional charges pertaining to the lab are pending. Gayramon. The fire was found to have originated in a downstairs bedroom and is believed to have been started by another child in the residence. Text: On 2/22/13 at approx. 1634 hours, AST responded to a residential fire at a residence on Biathalon Road in North Pole. Responding fire fighters found a 5-year-old child injured in the fire and subsequently transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. The child died as a result of the injuries. Investigation revealed that Nikolay Revutskiy, age 22, of Wasilla provided a false name when contacted. Revutskiy was later identified, and was found to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest. In addition, a search revealed he possessed a Schedule III controlled substance without a prescription. Revutskiy was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was lodged on the two $1,000 warrants, and the charges of Making a False Report and MICS V, with an additional $1,500.00 bail and CATP. The driver, Falynn Kimberly Bailey-Potter, age 30 of Palmer, was found to be driving while intoxicated. Bailey-Potter was arrested for DUI and transported to the Girdwood post where she refused to provide a sample of her breath. Bailey-Potter was also charged for the refusal and later remanded into custody at the Anchorage Jail, held on No Bail.
