Investigation revealed Billy L. Fikes Jr., age 58 of Meadow Lakes, was operating his vehicle while his Alaska driver's license was suspended. Fikes Jr. was issued a misdemeanor citation for DWLS and released from the scene. The VPSO found Chythlook who was under the influence of alcohol at the time of contact. Chythlook was arrested for a felony probation violation and remanded at the Dillingham Jail. Subsequent investigation reveal ed that she was operating the vehicle with no motor vehicle insurance. J. Bracht was issued citations to appear in court. The vehicle was impounded. J. Troopers contacted the suspect vehicle and contacted the driver Quintin O. Hartwig, 18, of Anchor Point during a traffic stop for an equipment violation near the intersection of West Hill Road and Miller Drive in Homer. Investigation at the scene revealed that Hartwig was intoxicated. Hartwig was arrested at the scene, transported and remanded to the Homer Jail where he was held on $500 dollars bail. AST flew to Seldovia and drove to the location. Investigation determined that 20 y/o Charles F. Hedgers had threatened to pour gasoline on his father's boat and burn it after they had a verbal argument with him. His father attempted to grab the 5 gallon gas can C. Hedger was holding and C. Hedger quickly moved it away, spilling gasoline on the boat in the process. The g asoline came within inches of a hot stovepipe on the boat. C. Hedgers was placed under arrest for 2 counts of Reckless Endangerment (one for his father and one for another deckhand on the boat) and transported to Homer Jail. At the jail a small cellophane package of marijuana was located in C. Hedger's cargo pants pocket while he was being searched during the booking process. He was charged with Promoting Contraband and MICS VI in addition to the Reckless Endangerment charges and remanded without further incident. Investigation showed that Parsons had shot and killed a duck out of season, without a valid hunting license, and without a valid state duck stamp. Parsons was issued citations for Hunting Without a Valid License and Take Waterfowl Without a Valid State Duck Stamp. Parsons was cited to the Anchorage Court with total bail set at $345. His snow machine was also found about 500 feet away, submerged up to the cowling, in a creek north of Quinhagak. A trooper responded from Bethel to investigate. The investigation indicates that Small drove the snowmachine into an open lead of water and got wet, which ultimately led to hypothermia and his death. His body was sent to the SME for an autopsy. Author: NDS0 Received Friday, April 19, 2013 12:19 PM and posted Friday, April 19, 2013 12:38 PM ------------------------------------------------- Location: Gambell, AK & Houston, AK Case number: AK13021043 & AK13025597 Type: Commercial Marijuana Grow Text: On 3/26/13, AST WAANT in Anchorage recieved a tip that a male travelling from Gambell, to Anchorage was carrying a large sum of cash to Anchorage on a commercial airline. WAANT Investigators contacted the male and subsequently seized several thousands of dollars in US currency that was suspected to be profits of illegal drug proceeds and further believed the money was intended to purchase additional controlled substances that would be brought back to Gambell. As a result of that contact, investigators developed a lead, which directed their attention to a residence located off Armstrong Road, in Houston. On 4/18/13, investigators with Anchorage WAANT and the Mat-Su Narcotics Unit contacted the occupant(s) of the residence off Armstrong Road. A search warrant was obtained for the home, which resulted in the seizure of 104 live growing marijuana plants, 1.72 pounds of processed marijuana, items related to the distribution of marijuana and various marijuana related grow equipment. On 4/19/13, investigators re-contacted the primary suspect for the marijuana grow operation, who was identified as Craig Talbott, age 48, of Wasilla. Talbott was arrested for four counts of MICS 4th and transported to MSPT, in Palmer, where he was held in lieu of $20,000 C/C. The estimated "street value" of the seized marijuana was determined to be $212,000. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the package and searched it. Investigators discovered 14 grams of heroin hidden inside the package. The heroin has a street value of approximately $5,600. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence of the intended recipient. On 4-19-13, Investigators served the search warrant and contacted the suspect, who was identified as Hayley Selmont, age 21 of Wasilla. During the search warrant service, Investigators located a small amount of additional heroin. Selmont was arrested for Attempted MICS 2nd Degree and MICS 4th Degree.
