B Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Wasilla Case number: AK13025876 Type: Assault 4th Degree (DV) Text: On 4/19/2013 at approximately 2031 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a domestic disturbance inside a vehicle on the Glenn Highway that was en route to the Palmer/Wasilla area. Investigation revealed James Guffey, age 25, of Wasilla, had assaulted a family member during the course of an argument. Guffey was arrested for Assault 4th Degree (DV) and remanded into the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility with no bail. Fern Street. Investigation revealed Jody L. Speerstra, age 35 of Wasilla, stole approximately $800 of construction materials from the work site. Further investigation revealed Speerstra was on probation and violated the conditions of his probation. Speerstra was arrested for Theft II and a probation violation. Speerstra was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held on a $2500 bail plus CATP. Byayuk was reported to be intoxicated while driving a snowmachine when the Togiak VPSO attempted to contact him. Byayuk attempted to run over the VPSO with the snowmachine and drove recklessly in the village while eluding the VPSO. During the next several days, Troopers and VPSO's attempted to locate Byayuk who was hiding in the village. On 4-20-13, Byayuk was contacted at a parents house and was taken into custody without further incident. Byayuk was remanded at the Dillingham jail with bail set at $2500 plus a third party custodian. One warrant was for failure to remand after sentence and the other was for a petition to revoke probation. Phillips was arrested in Perryville and was then transported to the King Salmon jail where she is currently being held on these warrants. Investigation revealed that Michael Sellin, 29, physically assaulted an adult female at the residence. Michael Sellin was arrested and transported FCC where he was remanded and held without bail. Text: On April 19, 2013, at 1557 hours, Alaska State Troopers in St. Mary's received a report that Don Hayes, the Pastor in Marshall, was the victim of an assault. Investigation found that an intoxicated 16 year-old male had assaulted the Pastor by stating he was going to hurt him. Investigation found that Criminal Trespass occurred in addition to the Assault. No injuries occurred because the male was physically removed from the area by a witness. Charges for Assault in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Trespass have been filed by Troopers. Investigation revealed Freel had an outstanding warrant. Further investigation revealed Freel was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Freel was arrested and remanded to the Anchorage jail. The complainant reported he was assaulted by his son, Virgil McCord Jr (Tyonek and 36yo), and that Virgil destroyed a small nightstand. On 4-20-2013, Alaska State Troopers responded to Tyonek and subsequent to the investigation, arrested Virgil for Assault in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, both crimes of domestic violence. Virgil was transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility and remanded without bail. Investigation revealed the driver, Emily Rogers, age 19 of Palmer, was driving under the influence of alcohol and possessed alcohol that she had furnished to a 17-year-old passenger. Rogers was arrested for DUI, Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, MOCA (Minor Operating after Consuming Alcohol), and MCA (Minor Consuming Alcohol). Rogers was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility with bail set at $250+sober. The 17-year-old passenger was issued a Minor Consuming Citation and released to a sober adult. Palmer Patrol Troopers, along with Trooper assigned to the Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to the area and contacted the vehicle as it drove on Seldon Road. The driver was contacted and identified as Marjorie Bailey, age 29 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Bailey was driving under the influence of a prescription medication and on a Revoked driver's license. Bailey was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where bail was set at $5,250 and a CATP. Bailey vehicle was impounded and being held for investigative purposes.
