A Detachment -------------------------------------------- Location: Ketchikan Case number: AK13027052 Type: MICS 6th Degree Text: On 04/25/13 at 0036 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan conducted a traffic stop on a black Ford Explorer for a moving violation near the intersection of Baranof Avenue and Anderson Drive. Investigation revealed that the passenger, Devin Klose, age 25 of Ketchikan was in possession of Marijuana and paraphernalia. Klose was issued a summons to appear in court for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 6th Degree and released at the scene. Investigation revealed that Jeffrey Lambert, 35 years of age of Ketchikan was driving his 2007 Chevy pickup truck northbound on the South Tongass Highway near mile post 7 when he lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway and impacted a rock wall. Both he and his passenger, Danielle Brown, 25 years of age of Ketchikan received injuries and were transported to the PeaceHealth Medical Center for treatment. Both were wearing seatbelts, Lambert was cited for negligent driving. Investigation revealed that a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Christopher Hausler, age 26 of Juneau, was waiting to pull out onto Glacier Highway from the parking lot when he determined that he was partially in the way of another vehicle turning into the parking lot, so he began to back up and that is when he struck the front bumper of a 2008 Ford F35, operated by Heather Mahle, age 33 of Juneau, that was stopped behind him. Both vehicles sustained minor damages to their bumpers. Seatbelts were utilized and no injuries were reported. Victor Road in Big Lake. APSIN/NCIC confirmed Hoelzle had two outstanding arrest warrants for failure to comply on the original charge of MICS-3 and misdemeanor failure to appear for theft. Hoelzle was arrested, transported, and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trail on $1500 bail. During the course of the investigation George Stackhouse, age 55 of Wasilla was contacted. Further investigation revealed Stackhouse had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on the original charge of DWLR. Author: JAL4 Received Friday, April 26, 2013 9:26 PM and posted Friday, April 26, 2013 9:15 PM C Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Aniak Case number: AK13027260 Type: Motor Vehicle Collision- Fatality, Manslaughter, Assault 2, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Text: On 4/25/2013 at approximately 2143 hours, Aniak based Alaska State Troopers received a report from Philip Simeon age 26 of Aniak that there had been a snowmachine accident near the west end of the Aniak State Airport runway. The Aniak Volunteer Fire Department, Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Trooper responded. Investigation revealed that Simeon had been driving a snowmachine across a ditch with open water. Simeon's snowmachine reportedly went airborne flying over the top of a parked snowmachine that two 15 YOA male residents of Aniak were standing. Simeon's snowmachine partially struck the parked snowmachine and both juvenile males. Dakota Nicholi age 15 was transported to the Aniak Sub-Regional Clinic where he was treated for injuries he sustained during the collision. Nicoli died a short time later as a result of his injuries. Next of kin was notified. During the course of the investigation it was determined that Simeon was under the influence of alcohol. Simeon was arrested and charged with Manslaughter, Assault II and DUI. Simeon will be transported to YKCC in Bethel. The State of Alaska Medical Examiners Office was notified and an autopsy has been requested. Kruschke JR has two prior assaults within the last 10 years making this incident a felony. Alcohol was a factor in this case. Kruschke JR was transported and remanded at the King Salmon Jail for assault in the third degree. Bushnell was found to be in the possession of a small amount of marijuana. Bushnell II was issued a summons to appear in court regarding the charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 6th degree. Bushnell II was released on his own recognizance. While at the residence, AST made contact with a 31-year-old Nikiski female who was found to be on Federal Probation for conspiracy for unlawful distribution of narcotics. A search was made of the residence and drug paraphernalia was found in addition to the woman admitting to smoking the synthetic drug - spice. The Federal Probation Officer was contacted and they will be filing federal probation violation charges on the woman. No arrests were made by AST during this investigation. Two 17-year-old students had a physical altercation and one was knocked to the ground. As the one student walked away, another 14-year-old student jumped on the 17-year-old that was on the ground and struck him several times. Investigation revealed that 22YO Ryan Peters, 21YO Dorcy Hatmaker, and 19YO Michael Matz, all of Sitka, had retrieved a Dungeness Crab Pot that did not belong to them, nor did they have permission to retrieve. Sitka AWT receives numerous complaints of this sort of activity throughout the year. Investigation also revealed that Hatmaker was on current conditions of release from Sitka District Court. Peters and Matz were issued summons for Tampering with Shellfish Gear and have mandatory court appearences in Sitka District Court. AWT requested a member of the Bureau of Highway Patrol response to the scene. Investigation revealed Sprouse had driven his vehicle while impaired by an alcoholic beverage and on a Revoked driver's license from a prior Felony DUI. Sprouse was arrested and transported to Palmer AST post where he refused to give a sample of his breath as required by law. Sprouse was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where bail was set at $10500 and a CATP. Sprouse's vehicle was impounded and being held pending forfeiture.
