A Detachment -------------------------------------------- Location: Ketchikan Case number: AK13028859 Type: Search and Rescue Text: On 05/01/2013 at about 1937 hours, Wrangell Search and Rescue called Alaska State Troopers to report a 16-year-old male had become separated from a school group camping on Vank Island 10 miles North West of Wrangell. A search was initiated and at 2132 hours, Wrangell SAR located the boy and transported him back to his group. No injuries were reported. C Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Emmonak Case number: AK13028561 Type: Vehicle Theft Text: On 4/29/13 at about 1610 hours, AST in Emmonak was contacted by the City Advisor for Nunam 'Iqua, reporting that the City Office snowmachine had been stolen. Investigation revealed that sometime after 0100 hours, on 4/27/13 a person took a black Polaris snowmachine that was parked outside the office. The snowmachine was later found on the trail headed up the Yukon River towards Alakanuk and returned to the city of Nunam 'Iqua with no damage. A suspect has been identified and charges will be forwarded to the Bethel DAO. Alcohol is believed to be a factor. It was reported that sometime around 0100 hours, on 4/27/13 someone entered the Washeteria and stole food from the snack bar. The estimated loss for the food was $151. There were no signs of forced entry. Investigation revealed that a person broke into the Washeteria and stole the food. All of the items stolen were found and returned to the City office. A suspect has been identified and charges will be forwarded to the Bethel DAO. Alcohol was a factor. The Manager reported that the Emmonak AC Store had been burglarized. Investigation revealed that unknown person(s) entered the store through the loading dock area at about 0248 hours on 4/30/13. The estimated theft was $85 in goods. The audible alarm went off shortly after the door was open and the Manager responded. There was no sign of forced entry or damage to the building. Author: ANM0 Received Thursday, May 02, 2013 9:02 AM and posted Thursday, May 02, 2013 9:39 AM ------------------------------------------------- Location: Nunam Iqua (Sheldon Point) Case number: AK13028649 Type: Burglary I, Misconduct involving a weapon IV X 3, Theft III, and Assault IV Text: On 5/01/13 at about 0500 hours, AST in Emmonak was notified of a home burglary that had occurred in Nunam 'Iqua. The investigation revealed that Edward Aguchak, age 28 of Scammon Bay, entered a home in Nunam 'Iqua and stole two rifles, a cell phone and some coins. Aguchak also tried to break into a safe but was unsuccessful. At about 0420 hours, Aguchak fired off what was believed to be three rounds from one of the rifles that was stolen from the house. Emmonak AST responded to Nunam 'Iqua on 5/01/13 and at about 1600 hours, Aguchak was located and arrested for the burglary and the thefts. All the items stolen were returned to the home owner. Aguchak was transported to the Emmonak Jail and is awaiting arraignment for the charges of Burglary 1, Theft 2 X 2, MIW 4 X 3, Theft 3 and Assault 4. Alcohol was a factor in this case. The LED light bar produces amber light when activated. The light bar was stolen from the vehicle while it was parked at DOT. Subsequent to investigation, one 750ml bottle of distilled spirits, one 1.5L bottle of wine and eighteen 12oz cans of malt beverage were seized. Charges are pending.
