Investigation revealed that John Chikigak, age 20 of Nunam'Iqua, violated a DVPO when he contacted the petitioner of the protective order at a residence. While in the home, Chikigak fired a .22 caliber rifle into the ceiling after all occupants of the residence had left. Chikigak was arrested and transported to the Emmonak Jail awaiting arraignment for charges of Violating a DVPO, MIW 4th degree X 2, Assault 4th degree and Criminal Mischief 4th degree. Vaughn was also in possession of a personal use amount of marijuana. Further investigation revealed Vaughn had been previously convicted of felony DUI twice. Vaughn was arrested for felony DUI, driving while license revoked, and misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 6th degree (possession of marijuana).
