Investigation revealed Kerry Sayles, age 43 of Wasilla, had assaulted a family member at the residence and caused damage to property belonging to the family member. Investigation revealed Jame s P. Peterson, age 43 of Wasilla, had assaulted a family member inside the residence. Further investigation revealed Peterson had interfered with a do mestic violence report and caused over $50 in damages to personal property. Subsequently, Peterson was arrested on the charges of Assault in the 4th d egree, Interfering with the Report of Domestic Violence, and Criminal Misch ief in the 4th Degree. Peterson was remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial, and held w ith no bail. An investigation disclosed Was hington assaulted a family member by grabbing them by the back of the neck and throwing them to the ground causing pain. Washington also dumped the family members personal property on the ground causing a small amount of d amage to the property. Further Investigation disclosed Washington is on felony probation for an original charge of Burglary 2nd. Washington was arrested and later remanded to the Kotzebue Regional Jail, with no bail pen ding arraignment. The Juvenile was outside in an unknown location. Upon arrival of both the Kotzebue Police Department and the State Troopers, the juvenil e was taken into custody without incident. An air pistol was later located and believed to have been the firearm the juvenile had. The Kotzebue Fire department deployed a boat to the scene and brought Mitchell back to Kotzebue. Mitchell will retrieve the boat at a later date. The Alaska State Troopers would like to remind the boating public to please make sure the boats contain all safety equipment for safety reasons. Subsequent investigation found, Diana Steger, 31, of Soldotna texted her boyfriend and made arrangements to pick him up, drive to the laundromat, and talk about their relationship. Once the vehicle had traveled a short distance from the man's residence, Ayanna Nelson, 25, of Soldotna, whom had been hiding under a laundry bag in the back seat, grabbed the man around the neck and held a knife to his throat. The man received three fairly significant lacerations to his neck before he was able to flee the vehicle and run away. The man was treated on scene by EMS, and made his own arrangements for transport to the hospital. Steger and Nelson fled and were located in the vehicle a few miles from the scene. Nelson and Steger were remanded to Wildwood Pretrial on charges of Attempted Murder and Assault II. Steger was additionally charged with violating conditions of her release. The charges resulted after investigation showed both Gionson Jr. & Sr. each shot a cow caribou on 08/29/12 on Chicken Ridge in GMU 20E. This season in the area where the caribou were killed requires a caribou to be a bull to be legal to harvest. Gionson Sr. was later charg ed with one count of failure to salvage all edible meat after leaving the c ow caribou in the field over night without gutting it after it had been gut shot.
