Investigation led to the conclusion that 49 year old Kalskag resident Gerald "BJ" Kameroff ki cked his girlfriend and punched his girlfriend's minor daughter in the head when she came to the aid of her mother. The minor shoved Kameroff out o f the house, and he then stabbed the water hose leading from the water rese rvoir into the house, ruining the hose. Kameroff was arrested and transp orted to Aniak without further incident. Alcohol was a factor in this in cident. As a res ult of injuries sustained in the collision, Crimet Alexie, age 21, of Tuluk sak was transported to Anchorage for medical treatment. Desinger departed their camp alone at approximately 1930 hours on 9/9/12 a nd was not seen or heard from again. Based on the circumstances, there was suspected to be a problem. Due to darkness, no search could be initiated at that time. On 9/10/12 at approximately 0855 hours, a helicopter from th e Alaska Wildlife Troopers arrived at the hunting camp and began an aerial search. On 9/10/12 at approximately 1114 hours, the AWT helicopter located Desinger and he was in good condition, uninjured, and appeared to have got ten lost. Desinger was returned to his hunting camp. The charges stem from the investigation following the death of Dolly Smith on 9/7/2012 in Kiana. Investigation revealed that Teddy Smith had been drinking and after first responders arrived on scene at the residence of Dolly Smith he had discharged a firearm at a crowd of people while outside the residence. Teddy Smith fled the area and has not been seen since. Teddy Smith should be considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Alaska State Troopers in Kotzebue 442-3222. Troopers have no information that the community of Kiana or the surrounding villages and residents in the region are in danger. No threats have been received. Troopers initially requested the residents in Kiana stay indoors during the response and search for Teddy Smith the first 24 hours. Since then there have been no requests from AST to lockdown or close any community, airport or school. Troopers are in the community to investigate the death of Dolly Smith. Troopers identified the driver as Michael J. Osness, age 42, of Anchorage. An investigation revealed Osness was operating the vehic le with a revoked driver's license stemming from multiple felony DUI convic tions with his revocation lasting until the year 2070. Osness was also f ound to have an active warrant for failing to appear at arraignment for the original charge of driving with a revoked driver's license. Osness was placed under arrest for the driving with a revoked driver's license and for the active warrant. Osness was transported and remanded into the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held on a total of $1250 bail.
