B Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Wasilla Case number: AK12241084 Type: DUI/MIW IV/MICS VI Text: On 10/7/2012 at approximately 0222 hours, Alaska State Troopers were contacted by Brian C. Gunnell, age 28 of Wasilla. Gunnell wanted to report himself as a REDDI driver for operating a 1997 silver Dodge pickup while under the influence of alcohol. Gunnell also admitted to being in possession of a firearm. Troopers responded to the Shell Gas Station at the intersection of the Parks Highway and Vine Road and contacted Gunnell. Investigation revealed Gunnell was under the influence of alcohol. Gunnell was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Gunnell was arrested for DUI, MIW IV, and MICS VI and remanded into the custody of the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Bail was set at $1,000 C/C. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver. Investigation revealed the driver, Robert Ayojiak, age 22 of Togiak, drove off the roadway causing a collision in which he and the female passenger were thrown from the vehicle. Ayojiak was intoxicated and the passenger sustained minor injuries. Ayojiak was arrested for DUI and Assault III, and booked at Togiak Jail until he was transported to Dillingham Jail. The male was identified as Mike Gumlickpuk, age 48 on New Stuyahok. Gumlickpuk was told to leave the residence and not to return. A short time later, Gumlickpuk returned to Wassillie's residence and began yelling and pounding on the door. Mike Gumlickpuk was arrested for criminal trespass. Subsequent investigation revealed that Derek Adams, age 18, of Nunam Iqua shot his father, James Adams, in the upper torso during a confrontation. Derek Adams was arrested by Alaska State Troopers for Assault in the First Degree and Weapons Misconduct in the Second Degree. Derek Adams was transported by Troopers to the Emmonak Jail where he awaits arraignment. James Adams was transported by LifeFlight to the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Center (YKHC) in Bethel. James Adams was treated and released from YKHC and is expected to return to Nunam Iqua. Investigation to continue. AK Bureau of Highway Patrol ------------------------------------------------- Location: Girdwood Case number: AK12240772 Type: DUI and Refusal to Submit Chemical Test Text: On 10-5-12 at approximately 1939 hours, Alaska State Troopers with the Girdwood Bureau of Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop on a silver 2001 Subaru Forester after receiving a REDDI(Report Every Dangerous Drive Immediately) report on the vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle stopped in the Girdwood Tesoro parking lot. The driver was identified as Tonga L. Mackey, age 43 of Sterling. Investigation revealed Mackey was driving while impaired by alcohol. Mackey was arrested and remanded to the Anchorage Jail. Bail was set at $5,000.00 and a court approved third party. The vehicle was released to a family member.
