A Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Ketchikan Incident number: AK12244908 Type: MVC-I Text: On 10/24/12 at approximately 0220 hours AST Ketchikan responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at 7.5 mile Revilla Road. Investigation revealed that Kenneth E. Freeman, 26 years of age of Cleveland Texas was operating a 2006 Ford Ranger when he lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway. Kimberly Shore, 21 years of a ge of Ketchikan Alaska was a passenger in the vehicle. Neither of the occupants were reportedly wearing seatbelts, both sustained injuries and were transported to the Peace Health Medical Center by North Tongass EMS. Speeding, unfamiliarity with the roadway & road conditions as well as consumption of alcoholic beverage is believed to be contributing factors in the crash. Investigation continues. Troopers responded and located the vehicle on Boundary Road in Klawock. The driver was identified as 49-year-old Larry L. Ellison of Klawock. Investigation revealed that Ellison was under the influence of alcohol. Ellison was arrested and transported to the Craig Police Department where he was remanded on the charge of DUI. Investigation revealed Conner had been driving his 1988 GMC while intoxicated. Further, Conner has two prior felony convictions for DUI in the last ten years. Investigation determined Ross Greenley, 26, of Togiak came home during the early morning hours and forced his way into his residence after he had been asked to leave. Once inside the residence, an argument ensued with a family member, causing the family member to concern of an imminent assault. When the family member attempted to call 911 for help, Greenley knocked the phone out of the caller's hand. Greenley was arrested for Assault in the 4th degree, interfering with a report of domestic violence and criminal mischief in the 5th degree. Greenley was later transported to Dillingham where he was remanded. AST investigation revealed a gray 1984 Honda Accord was being towed with the use of a tow strap west bound on Funny River Road when the steering locked. The vehicle, which was occupied by Steven Cable, 50 yoa of Soldotna, lost control and entered the east bound lane where it was struck by a white 2004 tow truck owned by Soldotna "Y" Towing and driven by Oscar Rookard, 77 yoa of Kenai. The tow truck sustained minimal damage to the front end while the passenger vehicle sustained damage to the left side of the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time and alcohol was not a factor. Cable was issued an AUC for not having a proper towing device. The addressee was contacted and consent to an inspection of the contents. The envelopes were opened, and located inside two of the envelopes were two (2) 10 gram packets of spice. The third envelope contained one (1) packet containing approximately 110 grams of spice. The addressee said he ordered the spice from two different online companies, one located in California and the other from New Jersey. The investigation is continuing by the WAANT unit. Incident to the contact, thirteen (13) 375ml bottles of alcohol and one (1) 750ml bottle of alcohol were found in his luggage. Kwethluk is a local option community which bans the sale and importation of alcohol.
