AST responded and investigation revealed that Marvin Charles Jr., 33 years of age of Saxman had assaulted his girlfriend. Further investigation revealed that Charles was currently on conditions of release. Charles was arrested for DV assault in the fourth degree and violating conditions of release. Investigation revealed Amanda Mead, age 18 of Wasilla, was driving southbound on Wasilla Fishhook in her 2004 Oldsmobile Alero when she struck the vehicle in front of her, a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox being driven by Steven Ferguson, age 34 of Wasilla. Both parties reported wearing their seatbelts. Neither party was injured in the collision and both vehicles sustained minor damage. Text: On 11-05-12 at approximately 0013 hrs AST received a report of a disturbance at a residence near mile 93 of the Parks highway in Willow. Investigation revealed that Jayson Mitchell, age 33 of Anchorage had assaulted his girlfriend and her son, and had refused to leave the cabin that was owned and occupied by a friend. Mitchell was placed under arrest for Assault-IV, DV x 2, and Disorderly Conduct. Mitchell was transported to MatSu Pretrial and remanded without bail. Troopers responded and investigated. Investigation revealed Sammy Zaukar, age 32, of Sleetmute placed two family members in fear of being assaulted by Zaukar's conduct inside a residence. A preliminary investigation revealed that sometime since early September 2012 a Kolstrand brand hydraulic longline hauler was cut from it's base and stolen from the storage lot. The combined value of the hauler and damage to the base is estimated at $3000.00. The damage was discovered the morning of November 1st. Upon close examination AST concluded the damage was the result of an impact by a broad-head arrow. Due to the cold weather the impact resulted in shattering of the vinyl siding. The Tyvek and wood was also damaged. The cost to repair the damage is estimated to be less than $500.00. AK Wildlife Troopers Location: Juneau Case Number: 12-49647 Type: Commercial Fish Closed Period - Trial Text: On 11-6-12, Larry "Jev" Shelton, age 70 of Juneau was found guilty in the Juneau District court on one count of operating a commercial gillnet during a closed period. The charges resulted after Shelton's vessel, the F/V KIRSTEN ANNA, was observed by Alaska Wildlife Troopers in a state aircraft with a portion of his gillnet still in the water after the scheduled closure. The violation occurred in district 11B north of Circle Point. On a second charge of operating the vessel with obscured ADFG numbers, Shelton was found not guilty though he was encouraged by the court to apply a fresh coat of paint. Shelton was fined $2000 with $1250 suspended and placed on probation for one year. On 7/30/12, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post charged Robert Joseph Stephens, age 72, of Goleta CA, for making a false statement on an application to obtain a resident permanent hunting and fishing license. Stephens is the owner of Alaska & NW Charters which operates the 98' M/Y Caledonia and conducts sightseeing and guided sport fishing trips in Southeast Alaska. AK Bureau of Highway Patrol ------------------------------------------------- Location: Wasilla Incident Number: AK12247961 Type: DUI, DWLR, Leave Scene of an Accident, MIW V, Theft II by Receiving Text: On 11/6/12 at 1549 hours, Laura Fenwick , age 31 of Wasilla contacted MATCOM Emergency Dispatch Center to report her vehicle was rear ended on Vine Road at the intersection of Knik Goose Bay Rd. and the other driver fled the scene. Investigation revealed Fenwick was operating her 2011 silver Ford Explorer east bound on Vine Rd. approaching the intersection of KGB Rd. A 1999 white Pontiac Grand Am operated by John D. Millard, age 38 of Wasilla rear ended Fenwick's vehicle. Millard fled the scene in the Pontiac and was later located by the Alaska State Troopers on Mainsail St. in Wasilla. Millard was subsequently arrested for DUI, DWLR, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Misconduct Involving a Weapon V and Theft II by Receiving. All parties involved reported no injuries. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. Millard was transported to and remanded in MSPT with his bail set at $2,500 plus a Court Approved Third Party.
