Investigation revealed Mark Lords (age 42 of Palmer) was driving a blue 2007 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on the Old Glenn Highway when he attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control, striking a red 2006 Mazda sedan head on, being driven southbound on the Old Glenn Highway by Jessica Dellerman (age 30 of Palmer). Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision; however Dellerman was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Both vehicles were estimated to be a total loss. Lords was issued two citations, for passing in a no-passing zone and for basic speed. Text: On 11/7/12 at about 2300 hours, the Village Police Officer responded to the Petla residence for a domestic disturbance. While he was there conducting his investigation, Alex Peter Petla, 26 of New Stuyahok, placed the VPO in fear of physical injury when he attempted to hit the VPO. When the VPO detained Petla, Petla punched the VPO in the face causing him pain. Petla was charged with the above charges. Investigation revealed Lance Hanley, 23 yoa of Fairbanks, was driving without a valid driver's license. Hanley was transported and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was held with $500 bail. Rudy, age 62, of Edmonds Washington for three counts of false statement on sportfish licenses. Investigation showed Rudy had unlawfully obtained resident sportfishing licenses in Alaska from 2008-2010. Total bail is set at $930 in Sitka District Court. The indictments stemmed from a Nome WAANT investigation on 10/9/12 in which approximately 18.5 liters of alcohol were seized from baggage checked in for the local option community of Savoonga. The suspect was contacted at a local commercial airline in Nome and subsequent to investigation, three 710 ml bottles of distilled spirits as well as two 2 pound bricks of yeast. Charges pending for misdemeanor alcohol importation and possession of homebrew ingredients. AK Bureau of Highway Patrol ----------------------------------------- Location: Milepost 87.2 Sterling Highway Case Number: AK12248695 Type: MVC-Serious Injury Text: On 11-9-12 at 1708 hours the Soldotna Public Safety Communication Center received 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle crash near milepost 87 of the Sterling Highway. CES, AST and BHP responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. Investigation showed a black 1994 Ford Bronco, driven by Rebecca McGrane, age 35 of Soldotna, was southbound on the Sterling Highway. A black 2006 GMC Yukon, driven by Robert Bauder, age 60 of Soldotna, was northbound. McGrane lost control of the Ford Bronco and the vehicle slid sideways across the northbound lane and was struck by the GMC Yukon on the passenger side. A passenger in the GMC was identified as Wylsefane Carvalho, age 32 of Massachusetts. All parties were transported to Central Peninsula Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Sterling Highway was closed for investigation, but traffic was rerouted through Robinson Loop Road. The Sterling Highway re-opened at 1910 hours. BHP investigation continues.
