A Detachment Location: Ketchikan Case number: 11-112870 Type: Search and Rescue Text: On 11/11/2011 at approximately 1520 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan received a report that Jason Custer, age 30 of Ketchikan had become lost in the area of Carlanna Lake. The Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to the area with a helicopter and located Custer but was unable to make a safe landing to pick him up. The KVRS responded with volunteers and rescue dogs to the area of Carlanna Lake. Custer was located by the KVRS and safely escorted out of the area. No injuries were reported. Walker Jr., age 56 of Wasilla, while he was attempting to start a vehicle parked on the side of the road near Beverly Lakes Road, Wasilla. Investigation revealed Doyle had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for the original charge of leaving the scene of an accident and DWLR. Doyle was arrested and transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was remanded on 1,500 C/C bail plus a court approved third party. Alaska State Troopers contacted Jeremiah L. Corbin, age 33 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Corbin caused serious physical injury to his girlfriend by means of a dangerous instrument, restrained her from leaving the residence while he repeatedly assaulted her and prevented her from reporting the assaults. Further investigation revealed Corbin was in possession of a concealable firearm and has been convicted of a Felony. Corbin was arrested on all charges, transported to and remanded in MSPT with his bail set at $30,000.00. Vail and Keel were contacted during an ongoing investigation into multiple thefts and burglaries in the Wasilla and Big Lake area. During the investigation approximately $10,000 worth of stolen power tools were recovered. Keel and Vail were transported to Mat-Su Pretrial facility. Keel was held on $30,000 bail with a Court Approved 3rd Party custodian requirement and Vail was held on $10,000 cash bail. Investigation is continuing. Investigation found that Kenneth Ryther, 65 of Delta Junction, was north bound in a 2001 Kia passenger car when he failed to observe a 2004 Ford Passenger Van, driven by 57 yr old Robert Kimball of Delta, stopped behind a school bus with its red flashers flashing. Investigation found that Ryther was driving without a valid drivers license. No injuries were sustained. All parties were wearing their seatbelts. Ryther was charged with Driving with a Revoked OL and issued a citation for Failing to Avoid a Collision. Madros, 20 YOA of Fairbanks, was intoxicated and tearing up his residence. The investigation revealed that during an altercation, Madros struck the caller on the head with a frying pan and left several scratches on his hand. The caller also reported that Madros broke out his glass in the driver's door of his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup resulting in $363 worth of damage. When Madros was advised that she was under arrest for assault, she resisted arrest and was physically subdued to effect arrest. Madros was remanded to the custody of the Fairbanks Correctional Center for Assault 4th and Resisting Arrest without bail. Alcohol was a factor. The vehicle was stopped for driving without headlights. Investigation revealed the driver, Mekennah Ward age 15 of Wasilla, was driving under the influence of alcohol and without a valid license. Ward was arrested for DUI, MOCA, NOVOL and MCA. She was subsequently cited and released to a parent. Alaska State Troopers Bureau of Highway Patrol, Kenai Peninsula Team, responded to investigate the collision. Investigation revealed that a First Student school bus operated by Christine Robinson, age 39 of Sterling, was dropping students off at the intersection with the appropriate school bus lights flashing when it was struck from behind by a white 1986 Ford pick-up, driven by Matthew Vermilion, age 30 of Nikiski. No person was injured as a result of the collision and both vehicles were able to leave drive from the scene under their own power. Vermilion was issued citations as a result of the collision.
