AST responded and investigation revealed that someone had backed a truck into the gate in an attempt to access the upper portion of the road. The gate sustained major damage during the incident. Investigation revealed, Douglas J. Vanlue, age 32 of Wasilla, was at a residence on Sammie Court, Wasilla, when he bit an occupant of the residence and grabbed her arm causing pain and injury. Text: On 11-12-12 at approximately 0905 hours, a motorist notified AST of a vehicle in the ditch on Monashka Bay Road near the landfill. Troopers responded to the scene and found an unoccupied 2000 Kia Sportage upside down in the ditch. The subsequent investigation determined that 18-year-old Kodiak resident Timmarie O'Niel was the driver and sole occupant. The collision occurred several hours earlier when O'Niel, who was northbound in Monashka Bay Road, lost control due to icy road conditions. O'Niel was wearing her safety belt and was uninjured. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at over $2,000.00. O'Niel was issued a summons charging her with Failure to Give Immediate Notice of a Motor Vehicle Collision (a Special Class Misdemeanor). A padlock was cut and removed from the hasp to gain entry to the shed. Damage to the padlock and hasp was estimated at $100. The four wheeler was found and recovered from behind the school abandoned and emptied of all of its fuel. The four wheeler was found to have been damaged and hotwired to start the engine. Harris, 29 YOA of Selawik, that Harris was fighting with his nephew and that during that incident, Harris kicked the family kitchen cooking stove causing a dent in it. Damage to the stove was estimated at $200. Harris fled the scene prior to AST arrival and his whereabouts was unknown. An arrest warrant for Harris' arrest for Criminal Mischief 4th was obtained from the Kotzebue Court. Snyder Sr., 31 YOA of Selawik, trashing a residence and had assaulted his 15-year-old niece. Selawik village police arrested Snyder for Assault 4th and transported him to the Selawik Police Department. AST/VPSO in Selawik was contacted by the village police to assist with the investigation. The investigation revealed that Snyder went to the Selawik residence intoxicated and a physical altercation subsequently ensued when Snyder made several derogatory remarks to others in the residence. Snyder was transported to the Kotzebue Regional Jail where he was remanded on the charge of Assault 4th (DV) without bail. Alcohol was a factor in the case. Mitchell Jr., 23 YOA of Selawik, wished to be excused from third-party custodian duties because Mitchell had violated his conditions of release by failing to obey his curfew. Mitchell was found at another residence and was also found to be intoxicated another violation of his conditions. The crash investigation revealed Craig Darr (age 19 of Anchorage, AK) was driving his late 90's model pickup truck southbound when his vehicle lost traction on the ice covered pavement. Darr was not able to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle went off the northbound side of the highway. The vehicle traveled down a 120 foot embankment and into the Silver Tip stream. The vehicle struck a culvert causing heavy front end damage to the vehicle. Darr sustained minor injuries. The vehicle was later towed from the scene.
