Investigation revealed, Jeffery Erickson, age 20, forced entry into the residence and was under the influence of alcohol. Investigation determined Brian Gries, 38, of Wasilla was traveling southbound in his 2002 Chrysler minivan when a moose entered the roadway. Gries was unable to avoid the moose, causing over $2000 damage to the vehicle. All occupants were reportedly wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured. AMF responded for the moose. Investigation revealed Anderson killed a brown bear in defense of life or property, but failed to notify the department. Anderson disposed of the carcass without salvaging the skull and hide with claws attached, as required, then removed the front paws and used them to pay a debt.
