AST responded to the scene and located the plane, a Cessna 152, in a pullout off the Parks Highway near mile 94.5. The pilot, Chienwen Liu, 39, of Anchorage and his passenger, Fang H. Lin, 37, of Bakersfield, Calif., reported that they were uninjured and that the rental airplane was undamaged. Liu reported that he had flown from Anchorage to Talkeetna earlier in the afternoon and that approximately 10 minutes after leaving Talkeetna airport for the return trip to Anchorage, the airplane engine stopped. Liu said that he attempted to restart the engine but that it would not restart so he elected to land the airplane on the highway. The FAA, NTSB and RCC were notified. Investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) entered the building during normal business hours and damaged a change machine. The change machine is valued at approximately $200 and it is believed that approximately $200 was inside the machine at the time of the incident. The investigation continues. Investigation revealed that Ethan Kerr, age 21, of Kalskag, assaulted a former roommate and caused serious protracted injuries. Further investigation revealed that Kerr was violating his conditions of probation on the original charge Assault in the Fourth Degree. Kerr violated his conditions by contacting the victim of his previous assault. The victim was transported to Bethel and later Anchorage for advanced medical treatment. Troopers were unable to respond to the village due to weather until 11/15/12. Kerr was arrested and transported to Bethel where he was remanded to YKCC pending arraignment.
