A Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Angoon Case number: AK12251717 Type: Search and Rescue/overdue hunter Update: At 1226 hours on 11/25/12 Frank Sharp, 80, was located alive and well. A search team heard 3 signals and was able to locate Sharp. Sharp is currently being transported back to Angoon via an Alaska Wildlife Troopers vessel. Search efforts today included 9 search teams consisting of 27 searchers in the field including 1 SEADOGS search dog and 5 vessels. Sharp refused medical attention. Text: 11-24-2012, 08:30; AST received a report of an overdue hunter at Kootznahoo Inlet adjacent to Angoon. The hunter had failed to arrive at his designated pick up point at the designated time the previous day. A search was conducted by his family which was unsuccessful. AST in cooperation with Angoon SAR volunteers, VPSO, SEADOGS, and the USCG initiated a search for the missing hunter which was suspend by 1700 due to darkness. The search will resume tomorrow. Investigation revealed Nels Anderson, age 47 of Wasilla, assaulted one of his family members. Anderson was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded and held without bail. Investigation revealed Meyer had outstanding AST arrest warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and a second APD arrest warrant Failure to Appear on the original charge of DWLR. Subsequently, Meyer was arrested on the outstanding warrants. Meyer was remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial, and held with bail set at $3,000. Foy was contacted in Palmer after AST received a tip on her whereabouts. Subsequently, Foy was arrested on the outstanding warrant. Foy was remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial and held without bail. Investigation revealed Jennifer Larson, age 32 of Wasilla, recklessly created a hazardous condition for others and was issued a misdemeanor citation for the original charge of Disorderly Conduct. Further investigation revealed Nicholas Larson, age 32 of Wasilla, recklessly caused physical injury to another person during the incident. Nicholas was arrested for the original charge of Assault in the Fourth Degree and transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where he was remanded into custody and held on $200.00 bail. John was taken into custody and was additionally charged with DWLS and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Sixth Degree. John was transported to and remanded at FCC. Investigation revealed that Anne Dove, age 57, of Delta Junction, was operating a red 1991 Ford Festiva westbound on the Alaska Highway when a moose ran out in front of her. Dove collided with the moose. Dove reported minor injuries, but declined needing medical attention. Her vehicle suffered significant damage, and the moose died from the impact. Two passengers in the vehicle were injured in the collision. The injured parties were not wearing seatbelts at the time. Night, 26, a resident of Hooper Bay, Alaska as she departed from her flight to Hooper Bay. The flight had returned to Bethel after Night was witnessed by other passengers/pilot drinking alcohol from a bottle she had hidden on her person. A single bottle of R&R whisky was seized from Night and she was arrested, Night was transported to YKCC pending arraignments on 11/26/2012. Currently, Night is on conditions of probation through the Bethel Court for several cases, all having alcohol restrictions. Hooper Bay is a local option community. Investigation is complete.
