B Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Wasilla Case number: AK12252500 Type: Warrant Arrest Text: On 11/28/12 at approximately 1100 hours Alaska State Troopers contacted Patrick Knott, age 44 of Wasilla in a local store parking lot. Investigation revealed that Knott had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Failure to Satisfy Judgment in the amount of $250.00. Knott was arrested, transported, and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. Investigation revealed that Robert Briles, age 44, was operating a 1999 Chevy Truck travelling west on the Palmer Wasilla Highway and attempted to turn onto East Irwin Loop when Kevin O'Laughlin, age 17, who was operating a 1988 Oldsmobile Sedan rear ended Briles vehicle. A third vehicle driven by Danielle Terry, age 49, began stopping her 2004 Ford F150 to avoid the collision and was rear ended by Mindy Phillips, age 28, who was operating a 1998 Chevy Astro Van. Damage to the Astro Van was estimated over $4,000 and was towed from the scene by MTR. The other three vehicles sustained approximately $1,000 in damage each and were driven from the scene. No injuries were reported and all parties reported wearing their seatbelts. Icy roads were a contributing factor to the collision. Subsequent investigation by AST determined the driver Jacob A Davis, 25, of Kodiak was intoxicated. Davis was arrested for DUI and lodged at the Kodiak Jail. A 20-year-old male passenger from Massachusetts was cited for minor consuming. Author: DVD0 Received Thursday, November 29, 2012 8:29 AM and posted Thursday, November 29, 2012 8:34 AM ---------------------------------------- Location: Aleknagik Case number: 12-61528 Type: Motorist Assist Text: On 11-27-12 at approximately 0720 hours, Aleknagik VPSO Jason Creasey was on the south shore when he witnessed two people on an ATV pulling a small trailer break through the ice on the north shore of Aleknagik. The VPSO quickly called for assistance to closest houses on the north shore and then traveled over to the north shore himself to assist. Upon his arrival, three Aleknagik residents which had been called to assist were on scene and already removed the father and his daughter from the water and took them to a nearby residence with heat. The residents used ropes to throw out to the people in the water. Both individuals that went into the water were wearing life jackets as they crossed the lake. EMS was contacted by the VPSO but were not used. Other than being cold and wet, there were no injuries. The ATV was removed from 15-20 feet of water during the afternoon. AST would like to thank VPSO Creasey and the residents for their quick thinking and immediate response and remind those traveling across the lake to follow the markers set out to show where the ice is thick enough for travel. It was reported that the driver and sole occupant, Ethan Waters (23 yoa of Soldotna), had sustained non-life-threatening injuries, however, a Life Flight was needed to transport Ethan to the Central Peninsula Hospital (CPH) for treatment. AST investigation revealed Ethan lost control of the Ford F350 he was operating while traveling West bound near 1.25 mile Nordaq Road. The vehicle entered the ditch tipping onto the driver side. Ethan sustained minor injuries to his hip and shoulder as a result of the crash. Ethan was treated and released from CPH. Alcohol was not a factor and Ethan was wearing his seatbelt.
