A Detachment -------------------------------------------- Location: Ketchikan Case number: AK12252979 Type: Driving in Violation of Instructional Permit, Permitting an Unauthori zed Person to Drive Text: On 11/29/12 at 2146 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan conducted a traffic stop on a white Pontiac near Totem Row and South Tongass Highway after the vehicle was observed being operated with expired registration. Investigation revealed that a 16-year-old juvenile was operating the vehicle with only an Instructional Permit and no adult inside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the juvenile's parent allowed the juvenile to drive the vehicle when not properly licensed to do so. The juvenile was issued a citation for Driving in Violation of Instruction Permit and Expired Registration. Charges are being forwarded to the District Attorney's Office on the parent for Permitting an Unauthorized Person to Drive. Colony Schools Dr. near N. Liahona Dr, near Palmer. Investigation revealed Zerilda Swart (age 20 of Palmer) was turning eastbound onto E. Colony Schools Dr. from N. Liahona Dr. in her tan 2000 Mazda sedan when she collided with the side of a black 2011 GMC Yukon traveling eastbound on E. Colony Schools Dr, being driven by Ardena Stringer-Owens (age 30 of Palmer). No injuries were reported and both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision. Hansen is on release conditions as a result of a pending Assault IV DV case, which prohibited him from leaving Bristol Bay. Hansen was arrested on an arrest warrant charging him with Violation of Conditions of Release. Hanson was also found to have consumed alcohol in violation of his release conditions. He was remanded to the Dillingham Correctional Center, with bail set at $1,500.00. AK Bureau of Highway Patrol ------------------------------------------------- Location: Anchorage Case number: AK12253106 Type: Suicide Text: On 11/30/12 at 1410 hours Alaska State Parks Law Enforcement Rangers discovered a deceased person in a vehicle parked near McHugh Creek near mile 112 of the Seward Highway. Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene and took over the investigation. A death investigation reveals a probable suicide. The State Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene and took custody of the body. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin notification is still pending therefore the name will not be released at this time.
