Investigation revealed that sometime between Nov. 3 and Dec. 3, 2012, unknown person(s) by unknown means removed a Makita air compressor from a garage in the 200 block of Knudson Cover Road. In most instances, forced entry was gained by kicking in doors or breaking out windows. Most coffee stands had very little if any cash on hand but the total amount of damages between the locations totals approximately $10,000. Text: On 11/25/12, AST received a report that Nolan Foster, 23 of Dillingham, was going to be transporting a case of alcohol to the village of Togiak that day. AST met up with Foster at a local air company and seized a box he had checked in for his flight to Togiak. A search warrant was granted by the Dillingham Court and AST recovered (11) 750 ML bottles of Monarch from the box. Togiak is a dry village. Foster will be summons to court for the above charge. OCS workers had removed the child from the home of Rose Newlin, age 27 of Noorvik, earlier in the day when they found him to have severe bruising on his forehead, face, arms back, legs and torso. The Trooper's investigation determined Newlin had assaulted the child by striking his head against the floor and hitting his body. She also failed to seek medical attention for his injuries. Newlin was arrested on 12/2/12 and remanded to the Kotzebue Regional Jail where she was held without bail. The driver was identified as Regg J. Simon, age 36, of Palmer. An investigation revealed Simon was operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol and he was placed under arrest for DUI. Simon was transported to the Palmer AST Post where he was asked to provide a sample of his breath to the datamaster under the Alaska implied consent law. Simon refused to provide a sample of his breath and was subsequently charged with refusal of a chemical test.
