Investigation revealed Clark had an outstanding AST arrest warrant for Failure to Comply with Conditions of Probation on the original charge of DUI. Further investigation revealed Long had an outstanding AST arrest warrant for Failure to Comply with ASAP on the original charge of DUI. Subsequently, Clark and Long were arrested on the outstanding warrants. Clark and Long were remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial. Clark's bail was set at $5,000, and Long's bail set at $2,500. Investigation revealed 18-year-old Jacob A. Gish of Palmer was traveling northbound on the Old Glenn Highway, operating his brown 1993 Ford Mustang, when he lost control of the vehicle on the icy roads and collided with the guard rail fence. No injuries were sustained, no citations were issued, and the vehicle was operational with approximately $2000 damage. Investigation revealed 19-year-old Curtis J Justen of Palmer was operating his white 2009 Hyundai Sonata when a moose entered the roadway and he was unable to avoid it. The moose walked away from the scene and the Sonata sustained only minor damage. No injuries were reported and no citations issued. Justen reported wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision. Keith Andrew, 27, of Napaskiak was arrested and remanded to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel for Assault in the Third and Fourth Degree after an investigation revealed he assaulted a family member and a witness to the initial assault because the Troopers were called. The driver, John R. Ward, 52 of North Pole, began slowing and moving away from the moose, but was unable to avoid a collision. There was a fresh thin coating of frost on the pavement, making emergency stopping difficult. The pickup collided with the moose and killed it instantly. There were no injuries.
