Troopers responded and contacted Tracye Rismoen, age 48 of Palmer. Investigation revealed Rismoen was driving her 2002 Ford F150 southbound along the Parks Highway near Dana Court when she lost control of the vehicle. The truck exited the roadway, collided with the ditch and rolled onto the hood. Rismoen reported wearing her seatbelt and no injuries. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4000.00. Investigation revealed the driver, Bradley J. Leverty, age 55, of Wasilla, was driving while impaired and under the influence of alcohol. Leverty was arrested, transported, and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $5,000 bail plus CATP. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver. During the investigation, Gabriel Feliciano, age 29 of Kodiak, rubbed bodily fluids on Troopers. Feliciano was arrested for Harassment I. Feliciano was transported to Kodiak Police Department Jail where he spit and rubbed blood onto a Troopers' Patrol Vehicle. While remanding Feliciano into Kodiak Police Department Jail, Feliciano again rubbed bodily fluids onto Troopers. Feliciano was charged with Harassment I and Criminal Mischief V, remanded into KPD jail where bail was set at $1250. Text: On 11-18-11, at about 2000 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Bethel received a report of a domestic disturbance in the Village of Scammon Bay. Elaine Amukon 29 yoa, of Scammon Bay was arrested for an assault involving a knife where she had threaten a family member. Elaine was transported to Bethel where she was remanded into the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center. The two were said to be soaking wet and hypothermic. AST launched a helicopter and went to their last known location. Troopers located Ludwig Hansen, age 42 and Owen Hansen, age 31, both from the King Salmon / Naknek area. Both individuals were cold and wet, but in good condition. The two were transported back to King Salmon where they were met by family members. Upon arrival they contacted Moxie Andrew III 18, of New Stuyahok. Andrew was highly intoxicated and ran from the officers into his parent's residence located at the Senior Center. Andrew yelled at the officers from behind the door that he had a gun and would shoot them. Officers backed off from the residence. Andrew then came out of the residence with a long gun pointed in the direction of the officers. Officers ran outside the building followed by Andrew. Andrew fired two shots in the direction of the officers and houses in the area and went back into the Senior Center. Five Alaska State Troopers responded from Dillingham. At approximately 0300 hours, Troopers made entry into the building and residence and took Moxie Andrew into custody without further incident. Andrew was remanded at the Dillingham Jail on two counts of attempted murder, misconduct involving weapons in the second degree, two counts of assault in the third degree, misconduct involving weapons in the fourth degree, two counts of reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and MCA. Andrew was arraigned on 12-8-11 and bail was set at $100,000 plus a third party custodian and other requirements. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues. Investigation revealed that Derek Ross, age 22 of Fairbanks, was driving a 1991 Jeep Wrangler and struck a light pole. Driver and all passengers reported wearing their seatbelts. Investigation revealed that Paul David Sr, age 58 of Fairbanks, was driving a 1997 Chevy Blazer and struck a 2001 Mercedes driven by Winnie Atwood, age 78 of Fairbanks. Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts. Damage to the vehicles was estimated at $5,000. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. The coat was stored in secured storage. The CO found the marijuana when she was out processing the inmate to transfer to another facility. Two men were confronted by a man armed with an assault rifle after he forced his way inside into their apartment. The suspect, later identified as Michael D. Crump (20 yoa of Fairbanks) demanded money from the victims. The victims were able to distract Crump momentarily and force a door shut, which locked Crump out of their apartment. Crump fled the scene in a vehicle. One of the victims recognized Crump as a past acquaintance. AST and ABI contacted Crump at his mother's residence at approximately 2100 hrs. AST arrested Crump for Attempted Robbery 1, Burglary 1, and Assault 3. AST is still investigating this case. Subsequent investigation found Carthell Newsome, age 44 of Soldotna, is currently on conditions of release for a misdemeanor assault. Carthell Newsome was found to be violating his conditions of release by consuming alcohol. Carthell Newsome was taken in custody without incident and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was held without bail pending arraignment. Author: RLH2 Received Thursday, December 08, 2011 11:08 AM and posted Thursday, December 08, 2011 11:35 AM --------------------------------------------------------- Location: Girdwood Case Number: 11-82669 Type: Reckless Driving Conviction (UPDATE) Text: On 12/8/2011 in Anchorage court, 60-year-old Colby Griffeth was found guilty of recklessly driving a semi-tractor with trailer down the Seward Highway on August 20, 2011. Griffeth was reported as a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) by two separate motorists traversing the highway. The callers reported that the semi was following too close, passing multiple vehicles in secession and speeding, among other complaints. Sergeant Mike Zweifel of the Girdwood post was able to locate the Semi and, based off of witness statements, arrested Griffeth for Reckless Driving, a misdemeanor crime. After a guilty verdict was reached following the two day trial, Judge Linton sentenced Griffeth to 30 days in jail with 25 suspended, $1,000 fine with $500 suspended and 40 hours of community work service. Griffeth was also ordered to be on informal probation for three years. "This case shows just how valuable the citizens of Alaska can be with aiding us to detect and charge the dangerous drivers on the Seward Highway and how seriously we take those reports," said Sergeant Mike Zweifel. Received Thursday, December 08, 2011 4:08 PM and posted Thursday, December 08, 2011 4:04 PM AK Wildlife Troopers Location: Fairbanks Case Number: 11-5196 Type: Fail to Salvage / Over Limit Moose Text: On October 11, 2011 Adam Davis Jr, 28yoa of Fairbanks, was found guilty in the Fairbanks District Court of failure to salvage all of the edible meat of a game animal and taking an over limit of moose. The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers beginning in January of 2011. A routine aerial patrol of an open moose season revealed a dead bull moose in the Tanana Flats that had not been salvaged. The investigation led Troopers to Adam Davis and showed that Davis had shot the moose negligently while taking a second moose. By the time the wasted moose was found by Troopers it was unsalvageable. Davis was sentenced to 1 year of probation and had to pay $1000 restitution for the moose, plus an additional $1000 fine with $500 suspended. In addition, Davis's hunting rifle was forfeited to the state and he was required to donate the moose he harvested to the state. The meat will go to the needy.
