Text: On 12/8/12 at approximately 1145 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Klawock received a report of theft in Naukati. The complainant reported that at some point between 12/7/12 and 12/8/12, an unknown individual had stolen approximately $100.00 worth of firewood from a commercial site near the community of Naukati. Investigation revealed Thomas W. Spurlock II, age 65, of Wasilla recklessly caused fear of imminent physical injury to a household member. Spurlock was subsequently placed under arrest for assault in the fourth degree and was remanded into the custody of the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held with no bail. Investigation determined Irons was operating the motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and without a valid driver's license. Irons was taken into custody and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held on $1000 bail. Irons' vehicle was towed from the location after an inability to locate a licensed driver. Investigation revealed that Ronald Skoog, age 28 of Wasilla was released on his own recognizance earlier in the day from the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility from a prior Criminal Trespass arrest. Video evidence revealed that Skoog stole a Portable Breath Test (PBT) valued over $500.00 as he was being released. The PBT was recovered and Skoog was arrested for Theft in the 2nd Degree and Violating Conditions of his Release. Skoog was transported back to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $3,000 bail. Investigation revealed 51-year-old Eric Troseth of Wasilla had been driving with a revoked license. Rogers was issued a misdemeanor citation to appear in court and released on-scene. The pickup was released to a licensed driver. Investigation determined Ernest W. Brooks, age 29 of Anchorage, saw the vehicle in a driveway running with the keys in the ignition and took the vehicle. Ernest drove the vehicle to Anchorage and was later contacted and arrested on an unrelated case. On 12/4/12 Brooks was contacted at the Cordova Center in Anchorage and arrested for Vehicle Theft 1. He was transported to Palmer and remanded into custody at Matsu Pretrial with bail set at $10,000 plus a court approved third party. Cambridge Drive in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Bonnie Anderson, age 67, of Wasilla died from natural causes. Next of kin was on scene and Comfort One paperwork was on file. Herrick, 52 of Anchor Point, near the Anchor River Inn. Herrick had an outstanding felony warrant. Herrick was contacted and while Troopers attempted to arrest Herrick, he assaulted both Troopers and resisted arrest. Herrick was eventually arrested and remanded to Homer Jail. CES responded to the scene and provided lifesaving efforts with the male subject. Investigation revealed that Eric Ward, age 53, of Soldotna, had been suffering with health issues and went into cardiac arrest at his residence and died. No signs of foul play were observed and the next of kin was present at the time of death. The SME's office was notified about the incident and Kenai Memorial Chapel responded to the scene. AK Bureau of Highway Patrol ------------------------------------------------------------ Location: Mile 49 Seward Highway Case Number: AK122-54752 Type: MVC-F x 2 Text: On December 7, 2012 at 16:40, Alaska State Troopers received a 911 reporting a three vehicle collision near mile 49 of the Seward Highway. Investigation revealed that a Black Chevy Blazer and a Toyota Pick-up hit head on. A GMC Yukon following the truck was unable to stop and rear-ended the truck. Both the driver of the Toyota, James Campbell, 62-yearsold, and passenger Margaret Campbell, 65-years old, both of Anchor Point, were not wearing seat belts and ejected from the vehicle. Additionally, the Chevy Blazer was reported to have gone approximately 20 feet off of the roadway and into the north-bound ditch. The driver, Richard Patterson, 47 of Sterling, was entrapped in the Blazer with injuries. Cooper Landing and Moose Pass EMS extricated Patterson with the assistance of Girdwood EMS, who transported Patterson to Providence. Sara Lindemann, 35-years old of Anchorage, was the driver of the GMC Yukon. She and her two passangers were uninjured in the collision. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the collision. Investigation is into the cause and circumstances of the collision is ongoing. The driver of the 2002 Honda Civic was identified Shawn Michael Kirkvold (17 YOA of Fairbanks). Kirkvold was cited and released for driving in violation of his instruction permit. The vehicle was released to the licensed owner of the vehicle.
