A Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Ketchikan Incident number: AK12255045 Type: NVOL Text: On 12/08/12 at 2200 hours Ketchikan AST stopped a 2007 Jeep Liberty for an equipment violation on the North Tongass Highway. Upon contacting the driver, LaPairs A. Shaw, 20 years of age of Ketchikan, investigation revealed that Shaw was operating a motor vehicle on the highway without a valid driver's license. Shaw was issued a summons with a mandatory court date of 12/18/12. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver. Subsequent investigation revealed that Charles Escoffon, 61-years-old of Kasaan, has assaulted a family member at their residence. When contacted, Escoffon, was found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages. He was arrested and transported to the Craig City Jail where he was remanded and held without bail pending arraignment. Investigation revealed that between 0800 hours on Dec. 08 and 1000 hours on Dec 09 that unknown person(s) removed portions of the metal ties securing the centerfield fence. This caused the fence to partially collapse. Tire marks at the scene show that the unknown person(s) then drove a vehicle over the downed fence and made "brodies" across the field. Investigation revealed Dana L. McMahon, age 36 of Wasilla had driven her vehicle to the residence then acted as if she were going to run into the property owner, then purposely drove into two parked vehicles, provided a false report implicating another in a crime and was Driving under the Influence. McMahon was subsequently arrested for Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, DUI, and Providing a False Report. McMahon was remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held without bail. Troopers identified the driver as Matthew J. Spencer, age 20, of Wasilla. An investigation revealed Spencer was operating the vehicle with a revoked driver's license stemming from a DUI conviction. Spencer was issued a summons to appear in court at a later date for the offense of driving with a revoked driver's license. Spencer was released on scene without incident.
