Investigation revealed one of the occupants, who fled the scene upon AST arrival, was 34-year-old Paul D. Weston of Wasilla. Weston had one outstanding $20,000 arrest warrant for Violating Conditions of Release on the original charges of MICS III (x2) and MICS IV (x2). AST investigation revealed that Rachael D. Smith, age 21 of North Pole was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion southbound on Badger Road when her vehicle collided into the driver's side of a 1993 GMC pickup truck driven by a 26 year old female. The Fusion then slid into a row of mailboxes on the side of the roadway. The GMC was preparing to make a turn into the driveway of 3114 Badger Road. All occupants were reported to be wearing their seatbelts and were not injured. Damage to the Fusion was estimated at $3,000.00. Damage to the GMC was estimated at $2,000.00. Investigation determined 20-year-old Brittany Ott had lost control of her 1999 Ford Ranger while attempting to pass another vehicle. Ryan, age 22 of Fairbanks, was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima southbound on University Avenue at the intersection of Geist Road when he failed to stop for a steady red traffic signal. Ryan collided with a 1992 Dodge pickup truck driven by a 46-year-old male of Fairbanks, and turning westbound onto Geist Road. Ryan's vehicle then collided with a 2005 Subaru Forrester driven by a 48-year-old female of Fairbanks stopped on Geist Road and facing eastbound at the intersection of University Avenue. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured in the collision. Ryan's vehicle was considered a total loss. Damage to the Dodge pickup truck was estimated at $1,000.00.
