B Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Palmer Case number: AK12258599 Type: Criminal Mischief 4th (DV), VCOR, Resisting Arrest Text: On 12/24/12 at approximately 2240 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in Palmer for a disturbance/911 disconnect. Investigation revealed Michael Peralta, age 26 of Palmer, broke several items during a domestic violence incident with a family member. Peralta was found to be under the influence of alcohol, which was violating his terms of release for a prior arrest. Peralta was arrested for Criminal Mischief 4th Degree (DV), VCOR and Resisting Arrest. Peralta was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held with no bail. Investigation revealed Michael Butler, age 41 of Wasilla, had assaulted a family member and damaged property at the residence. Butler fled before AST arrival and AST was unable to locate him until 12/25/12 at approximately 0030 hours where he was contacted on a traffic stop. Butler was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held without bail. AST contacted Jesica Taylor, age 31 of Wasilla, during the incident. Investigation revealed Taylor recklessly engaged in conduct which put a family member at risk of serious physical injury and she was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, which was a violation of a condition of release from a previous incident. Taylor was subsequently arrested for the original charges of Reckless Endangerment (DV) and Violating Conditions of Release. Taylor was transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where she was remanded into custody and held without bail. Bel Aire Drive in Wasilla. AST contacted Clifford Crabtree, age 47 of Wasilla, during the incident. Investigation revealed Crabtree damaged property belonging to a family member and hindered that family member from making the report on 911. Further investigation revealed Crabtree spit in the face of the same family member during the incident. Crabtree was subsequently arrested for the original charges of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, Interfering with the Report of a DV Crime, and Harassment in the First Degree. Crabtree was transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where he was remanded into custody and held without bail. Lucus Road in Wasilla after a report of suspicious activity in the area. AST eventually identified the contacts as Ricky Cunningham, age 45 of Wasilla, and Tessa Bear, age 27 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Bear had an outstanding Felony arrest warrant for the original charges of Theft in the Second Degree and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree. Bear provided a false name to AST during the contact and was also found to be in the possession of nunchucks and a switch blade knife. Bear was charged with the additional original charges of Making a False Report and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Fifth Degree x 2 counts and held on a total of $7,000 bail. Investigation revealed Cunningham knowingly hindered the apprehension of Bear who had an outstanding Felony warrant and he was arrested for the original charge of Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree and held on $2,000 bail. Investigation revealed Katherine Dubois, age 59 of Wasilla, had assaulted a family member at the residence. AST responded to the scene to assist. Investigation revealed Lace A. Durant, age 26, of Kodiak was driving under the influence and impaired by alcohol. Durant was arrested at the scene and transported to the Kodiak City Jail. Durant was remanded on a charge of DUI (a Class A Misdemeanor) and held on $500 bail. Searchers followed what appeared to be slide marks down the side of the mountain and located Russell's remains. Next of kin has been notified. On 12/23/2012 at approximately 1802 hours, Alaska State Troopers were notified of an overdue hiker, Derek Russell, 20, of Kodiak. Investigation revealed Russell was last seen at approximately 1000 hours on 12/22/2012 when he told friends he was going hiking on Barometer Mountain. AST, USCG, and Kodiak Island Search and Rescue searched the mountain for two days. Three SAR dogs and four handlers from Anchorage joined the search on 12/25/2012.
