Steve Jimerfield

Steve began his career with the Alaska State Troopers in 1975. He was assigned to DPS Training Academy as a instructor and promoted to the rank of Corporal. Steve retired from the Alaska State Troopers in 1997. He holds a 6th degree Black Belt in Judo and Jujitsu. Steve has received many awards throughout his career. He was named Post Trooper of the Year, Detachment Trooper of the Year, and a Meritorious Service Medal from the Ketchikan Police Department. Despite his retirement, he continues to instruct Defensive Tactics for law enforcement officers throughout Alaska and the lower 48. Steve holds many professional affiliations, which include APOA, ASLET, FOAST, Association of Professional Law Enforcement Emergency Vehicle Response Trainers and Police Defensive Tactics Instructors International, and Who's Who in American Law Enforcement. He is a Alaska Police Standards Council Instructor certified to teach EVOC, self-defense, OCAT, defensive tactics, physical fitness and PR24.
