Investigation revealed Ralph Edmenson, age 37 of Wasilla, was driving on a suspended license. Edmenson was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant for DWLS and an additional charge of DWLS. An investigation disclosed that they left Kotzebue on a Hon da 4 wheeler at approximately 2030 hours on 12-31-2012 and had not made it to Noorvik. A search with the AWT super cub located them 22 air miles fr om Kotzebue at a cabin. They reported that a ground storm came up as the y were traveling the trail and they located a cabin and stayed the night. They were warm and in good health. Both later made it to Noorvik wit h no AST assistance. An unknown person or persons came up from behin d the female and assaulted her. The case is under investigation at this time. Further investigation disclosed the package contained three (3) 750ml bottles of alcohol. A suspect had been identified and contacted. The case will be sent to OSPA for prosecution. An investigation disclosed a 21 year old male from Buckland had app roximately 56 grams of marijuana on his possession. The marijuana was se ized and the male was allowed to continue on his trip. AST was unable to respond due to weather, but a VPSO from New Stuyahok responded via snow machine to begin the investigation. Investigation revealed that Alexandria George, age 19 of Manokotak, had consumed an alcoholic beverage while under the age of 21 and created a disturbance by loud noise. Investigation also revealed that Sarah Nanalook, age 46 of Manokotak, created a disturbance by loud noise and possessed an alcoholic beverage in a village where alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Incident to the contact, 10.5 ounces of marijuana and eight (8) 750mL bottles of alcohol were found and seized from her backpack. V. Jimmy was arrested and transported to YKCC where she was remanded for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance and Alcohol Importation charge, pending her arraignment. Estimated value of the marijuana is $14,900. Chefornak is a local option community which bans the sale and importation of alcohol.
