Text: On 1/10/13 at approximately 1000 hours, Village Public Safety Officers (VPSOs) in Hydaburg received a report of Criminal Mischief to a vehicle parked at a residence in Hydaburg. The complainant reported that at some point between the evening of 1/9/13 and the morning of 1/10/13, an unknown individual had punctured all four tires of the victim's 2003 Ford Ranger. Damage to the tires was estimated to be approximately $400.00. The investigation is ongoing. Investigation revealed the driver, Kayela Nielsen (age 20 of Wasilla), had two outstanding warrants for her arrest for failure to appear on the original charges of providing false information and improper use of registration. Nielsen was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded into custody. Bail was set at $500. Investigation resulted in the arrest of George Wilson, age 60 of Tazlina for DUI and driving with a revoked license. Wilson was also issued citations for open container and no proof of insurance. It was reported that Harry Aguchak, 29 of Mountain Village, and Marle ne Bell, 25 of Hooper Bay, left at 0400 hours on 01/09/2012 from Scammon Ba y on an older Polaris 550 snow mobile. The weather became increasingly poo r as a low pressure system passed through the area. No aircraft were able to fly due to the low visibility, icing and fog. Search and Rescue coordin ators from Scammon Bay and Mountain Village coordinated a search and each r espective party traveled halfway from their villages. They were unable to locate the missing people on the snow mobile on 01/09/2013. Volunteers fro m Scammon Bay departed from Scammon Bay in the morning on 01/10/2013 to beg in searching again. They were able to locate Bell and Aguchak approximatel y 5 miles outside the village later in the afternoon and bring them back to Scammon Bay. They were seen at the clinic and released with no complaints or injuries. They reported that they had gotten into some bad weather and ran out of fuel. Investigation determined Adam L. Arnariak Jr. 19, of Togiak punched a 15-year-old female in the side of the head during an argument. When witnesses in the residence attempted to call law enforcement, Arnariak threatened hurt himself with an ulu if law enforcement was called. Arnariak was arrested for assault in the 4th degree domestic violence and interfering with a report of domestic violence. Alcohol was not a factor in the incident. Bartman Jr. 25, of Togiak after Bartman was observed by the VPSO driving his snowmachine in a reckless manner in the village. Bartman was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Bartman failed a series of sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DUI and held at the Togiak Public Safety building. Before being placed in the holding cell, Bartman grabbed the jail guard and pulled him into a holding cell and assaulted him, causing injury to his arm before being subdued by the VPSO. Bartman was additionally charged with assault and reckless endangerment. Investigation revealed that Nathanael Bair (age 28 of Wasilla) had sexual contact with a 12-year-old female, in 2011 and again in 2012. On 1-10-13, the Palmer Court issued an arrest warrant for N. Bair. N. Bair was arrested at his Wasilla residence without incident. N. Bair was remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial on three counts of Sexual Abuse of Minor in the second degree, domestic violence, and no bail. Paniyak. Incident to the service of the warrant, approximately 20 gallons of homebrew were found inside of the home, along with a small amount of Marijuana, an electronic scale and packaging material. Paniyak was arrested, transported to Bethel and remanded at YKCC. Paniyak is currently on conditions of probation reference three separate cases out of the Chevak court and was in violation of those conditions. Chevak is a local option community having voted to ban the sale and importation of alcohol.
