Investigation revealed that Toni A. Burns, age 45 of Wasilla, passed away in her home due to natural causes. Burns' Next of kin have been notified. No foul play is suspected. Jones, 44 YOA of Selawik. The investigation revealed that Jones struck the victim several times on the head and arm with a wooden chair causing injury to her head and arm. The victim was transported to the Selawik Clinic for treatment of her injuries. The injuries were not life-threatening. Jones was located and arrested for Assault 3rd, transported to the Kotzebue Regional Jail and remanded to custody without bail. Alcohol was a factor in the case. The investigation is continuing. David, age 17 of Tetlin, during a traffic stop near milepost 1315 of the A laska Highway. David was observed weaving into the opposite lane of travel while operating a 1991 Chevrolet truck. Subsequent investigation revealed that David was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested. Shane B. Nelson, age 33 of Fairbanks, was a passenger and the owner of the vehicle. Nelson was issued a summons for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. David is charged with driving under the influence, driving without a valid license, He was cited for possession of alcoholic beverage while under age 21 and driving violations. Nelson is charged with Contributing to the delinquency of a minor and permitting an unauthorized person to drive. Investigation disclosed the driver, Colter Fike, age 40, of Wasilla, was driving the vehicle without having an ignition interlock device installed as required.
