The driver of the vehicle was identified as Michael Kelley, age 33 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Kelley had been operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended. Richardson, lost control of his 2007 Dodge pickup truck and rolled it into the ditch. Harvey was arrested for DUI and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility on $500 bail. All passenger's reported wearing their seatbelts and damage was minimal. author: PPCS0 Received Saturday, March 09, 2013 9:09 PM and posted Saturday, March 09, 2013 9:37 PM C Detachment ----------------------------------------- Location: Dillingham Case Number: AK13016102 Type: Aircraft Accident (UPDATE) Text: At approximately 0600 on 3/9/2013, the 11th Air Force Rescue Coordination Center notified Alaska State Troopers that the crew of an Air National Guard HH-60 Pavehawk had located the wreckage of the downed Beech 1900 aircraft. The helicopter crew recovered the bodies of the two crew members aboard the downed aircraft, Captain Jeff Day, 38, and First Officer Neil Jensen, 20, both of Anchorage, and flew them first to Dillingham, and then to Anchorage. The bodies were turned over to the State Medical Examiner's Office. Next of kin has been notified. Original text: On 3/8/2013 at approximately 0830 hours, Dillingham Alaska State Troopers were advised by the RCC that an Ace Air Cargo flight had dropped off the radar prior to its scheduled landing at the Dillingham Airport. The aircraft is reported to be a Beech 1900 with two people on board. Initial information is that the aircraft was flying instrument flight rules (IFR) and was cleared to land at the Dillingham airport and the aircraft never landed. At approximately 0915 hours the Emergency Locator Beacon (ELT) began transmitting a signal. The location is approximately 20 miles northeast of Dillingham in the Muklung Hills. A Dillingham AWT Trooper attempted to reach the scene via snowmachine, however, due to poor weather and snow conditions, he was forced to return to Dillingham. Ground response has been suspended. AST is working with RCC. At approximately 1300 hours, a Coast Guard Helicopter arrived in the vicinity and is searching for the missing aircraft. A C-130, an additional helicopter and other resources will arrive in Dillingham at approximately 1400 hours to join the search effort. Updates to follow. Investigation revealed that Derek Oberacker, age 18, driving a silver Mercury Cougar, collided with Ryaan Villagomez, age 27, driving a gray Dodge Durango. Oberacker and Villagomez were the only occupants of their respective vehicles. Seat belts were worn by all parties involved. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damage. Oberacker was issued a misdemeanor summons for driving with no valid operators license and a citation for driving without proof of insurance. Text: On 3/8/13 at approximately 1944 hours, Soldotna Trooper received a report that Jeffrey Bettis, age 44 of Nikiski, was pouring gasoline on a vehicle and threatening to light it on fire with someone in the vehicle. Troopers responded to the residence and contacted an intoxicated Jeffery Bettis at the residence. Investigation revealed Bettis committed the crimes of DV Assault 3rd, Attempted DV Criminal Mischief 3rd, Attempted DV Arson 1st, and Endangering Welfare of a Child 2nd. Bettis was further charged with Disorderly Conduct and Assault 4 on Peace Officer after kicking one of the arresting Troopers. Bettis was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial with no bail.
