C Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Bethel-Hooper Bay Case number: AK13017344 Type: Assault II/IV-DV Text: On 3/12/13 at 2050 hours Hooper Bay Police Officer S. Gump responded to a reported assault that had just occurred at the Patrick Lake Sr. residence in Hooper Bay. AST arrived on 3/13/13, 1000 hours and the investigation revealed that Patrick Lake Sr. (47 yrs.)came home highly intoxicated and began fighting with his children. Patrick Sr. hit his daughter in the head with his fist while holding a cellular phone, causing minor injuries. Patrick Sr. then grabbed his son's hoody sweatshirt and was able to pull from behind with sufficient force to stop his breath, cause his lips to become numb and cause welts over 6 inches on his son's neck. Patrick Sr. was taken into custody. When AST questioned Patrick, he could not recall the incident, attributing his memory loss to alcohol consumption. Patrick Sr. was remanded to YKCC on a charge of Assault II and Assault IV DV. Alcohol was a factor. The victim alleged her 63-year-old father had sexual intercourse with her while she was asleep and/or incapacitated by alcohol. Person's associated with the incident have been interviewed. The driver of the vehicle, Jackie Robins Jr., age 39 of Nikiski, was arrested for driving with a revoked license and he was remanded at Wildwood pretrial and held on $500 bail. Investigation revealed that a Blue 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling northbound on the Sterling Highway and struck a male pedestrian who was walking on the shoulder of the northbound lane of travel. The male pedestrian received injuries as a result of the collision and was transported by EMS to Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna for treatment. Investigation is still continuing. She reported they were supposed to be back on 03-15-2013 at approximately 2200 hours. Girdwood AST located their vehicle near mile 48 of the Seward Hwy. During a Hasty search of the area conducted by State Troopers and a good Samaritan, Henry Sprague, (age 62 of Soldotna ) the people were located. Subsequent investigation revealed there had been a communication error on the time of return. Welch was arrested for driving under the influence and remanded at the Seward Jail with a $500 bond. During the stop it was found that the driver, Jessica Russell, 31 of Wasilla, was driving the vehicle while her license was revoked. Further investigation showed that Russell was on conditions of release from a previous arrest and that she was in violation of those conditions. Russell was arrested and remanded into Mat-Su Pretrial where bail was set at $500.
