A Detachment Location: Ketchikan Case number: AK13018522 Type: Violation of Conditions of Release (Felony) and Probation Violation Text: On 3/18/2013 at approximately 1919 hours, the Alaska State Troopers arrived at a residence on Garland Court in Ketchikan after receiving a report of a person violating conditions of release. Troopers contacted 53-year-old Mark R. Anderson of Ketchikan at the residence and found him to be in Violation of his Conditions of Release (VCOR) stemming from a previous offense. Anderson was also found to be on Felony Probation from a previous Felony DUI conviction and was in violation of his probation. Anderson was arrested without incident and was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was remanded without bail for VCOR and the Probation Violation. Investigation revealed that 46-year-old George Alurac of North Pole had assaulted two family members in the residence. Alurac also prevented one of them from calling 911, damaged a cell phone in the process and violated his conditions of release. The male explained he was looking to trade his handgun for a handgun listed on Alaskaslist. He obtained the serial number of the handgun, and believing the deal too good to be true, called the Troopers to ensure the firearm was not stolen. Upon learning the firearm was listed as missing, he set up a meeting place in Sterling. Upon being confronted with the handgun's status, the male gave it to the Sterling resident and left the area. The firearm was reunited with the owner. The owner of the firearm said it had been handed down from a grandparent and was very thankful there were still Good Samaritans. Bongolan was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Homer Jail for remand, bail set at $2500. Catherine was able to escape the moose and get to safety inside of her residence before AWT arrival. Catherine declined EMS transport, but was later transported to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital by a friend as a precaution. The cow moose was very agitated and had an injury to its hind leg. It was dispatched on scene by AWT. A charity responded and salvaged the moose. State Troopers arrived within the hour and found Village Public Safety Officer Thomas O. Madole, age 54 of Manokotak dead outside of a residence of an apparent gunshot wound. Leroy B. Dick Jr., age 42 of Manokotak was taken into custody a short time later by State Troopers not far from where the body of VPSO Madole was located. Dick is being held in custody in Dillingham jail pending arraignment on charges of Murder First Degree. Investigators with the Alaska Bureau of Investigation are en-route to Manokotak to continue the investigation. Officer Madole was one of two Village Public Safety Offices based in Manokotak and has been assigned to Manokotak since August of 2011. AK Bureau of Highway Patrol ------------------------------------------------- Location: Wasilla Incident Number: AK13018720 Type: MVC-Fatality Text: On 3/19/13 at 1835 hours, Alaska State Troopers Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to Settlers Bay Drive in Wasilla for a report of a single vehicle collision. Investigation revealed Mathew Bernard Delong, age 30 of Wasilla was operating his 2010 white Ford pick-up truck east bound near .4 mile Settlers Bay Drive, lost control of the vehicle, went over the guardrail on the north side and the vehicle came to rest on its roof in the tree line. Delong succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased on scene. Delong was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision. The vehicle Delong was operating was a total loss. The State Medical Examiner's Office was notified and responded to the scene to retrieve Delong's body. Next of Kin was notified of Delong's death.
