A Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Klawock Case number: 10-60508 Type: DUI, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, Fail to Provide Proof of Insurance Text: On 07/05/10 at approximately 1835 hrs, Klawock AST conducted a traffic stop on a white 1994 Suzuki SUV bearing AK plate# EUB975 for speeding near mile 6 Klawock-Craig Highway. The driver was identified as Brian, K. Holter age 48 of Klawock. Investigation revealed that Holter was operating a motor vehicle upon an Alaska public roadway under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested for DUI. Upon further investigation Holter refused to provide a breath sample, resulting in a charge of refusal. Holter was remanded to Craig Jail Facility for DUI, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, and Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance. Investigation determined that Aurora Oleary, 15 yoa of Eagle River was driving her mother's 08' GMC Yukon while towing a camper trailer. As the vehicle was heading eastbound the trailer hit a frost heave and began to fishtail, Oleary was unable to correct the trailer and jackknifed it in the westbound lane heading eastbound. During the collision both the trailer and the Yukon were damaged. Oleary's mother was present at the time of the collision along with two other minor passengers. Everyone in the vehicle was reported to wearing their seatbelts and no injuries were reported. The occupants of the vehicle were able to change several tires and were able to drive away from the scene. Investigation determined that the passenger car was attempting to pass the dump truck as the dump truck was slowing down to make a left hand turn. The passenger car struck the dump truck and ricocheted into the oncoming lane and came to rest in the ditch. The driver of the dump truck was identified as Leonard Viersen, 63 yoa of Glennallen. The driver of the passenger car was identified as Bryan Graceland, 52 yoa of Anchorage. Graceland had a single passenger who was identified as Annie Stewart, 61 yoa of Anchorage. Graceland and Viersen were able to leave the scene without injury. Stewart sustained significant injuries during the collision and was medi-vac'd to Anchorage by helicopter directly from the scene. Graceland was cited for improper passing. Investigation revealed that Asche had an outstanding arrest warrant for the original charges of Theft in the 1st degree, Fraud, and Falsifying Business Records. Asche was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded into custody, and held on $25,000 bail. Subsequent investigation revealed that C. Hardy was intoxicated and had a revoked driver's license. Further investigation revealed that C. Hardy was also in possession of marijuana and on conditions of release. C. Hardy was arrested, transported and remanded to Anvil Mountain Correctional Center. Simeon reportedly traveled to Anchorage without a travel permit and had not contacted his probation officer as required. Simeon was subsequently located at his residence on Cranberry Court where he was arrested by State Troopers. Simeon failed to submit to a UA as required and was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A charge of Violation of Condition of Release was also added as Simeon violated his felony probation conditions, which he was ordered by the court to abide by. Simeon was transported to Bethel where he was remanded at YKCC without bail. The male was identified as Jimmy Simon, age 23 of Allakaket. As Troopers were attempting to wake Simon he became combative and uncooperative, and tried to strike the trooper. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Simon was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Sixth Degree. Callers stated they were being threatened by their neighbors who were yelling and screaming at them. AST contacted Maranatha Watson, age 37, of Fairbanks, and Katie Stembridge, age 21, of Fairbanks who were both given disorderly conduct warnings. AST left the scene but were soon summoned to return by the original callers who were again being threatened by Watson and Stembridge. AST returned to the scene and witnessed Watson and Stembridge yelling and threatening the neighbors. Both were remanded to FCC for Disorderly Conduct, MICS VI, and Assault IV. Alcohol was a factor in the incident. Troopers eventually contacted Scott BAILEY, 53 of Wasilla, near mile 258 of the Parks Highway for a variety of traffic infractions. Investigation revealed BAILEY operated a vehicle pulling a boat while intoxicated and he was in possession of a firearm. GRUFF was not in Alaska. Investigation revealed that GRUFF returned to Alaska for summer work in 2010. In his absence from Alaska during the winter of 2010, he did not contact local law enforcement in Arizona or Washington. GRUFF failed to provide his annual written verification in May 2010. Investigation revealed that two unknown white males use a chainsaw to cut and dismantle a newly installed fence. Estimated damages were less than $500.00. Investigation continues. Troopers responded to the residence to conduct a welfare check and discovered that an intoxicated male individual had cut his hand on broken glass after he'd broken a drinking glass on the table. The subject was on conditions of release by the Court and was prohibited from being at the residence and from consuming alcohol. The subject was transported to FMH by EMS for treatment of his hand injury. The case is forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for prosecution of the subject for Violation of Conditions of Release. Alaska State Troopers responded to the residence located on Karluk Avenue, where they contacted Dustin Clark, 41 years of age of Kenai. Subsequent investigation revealed that Clark had assaulted his significant other during an argument. They had both been consuming alcohol at the time of the assault. Clark was arrested and transported to Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was held without bail pending arraignment. The driver was identified as Jesse Lehman-Jennings, age 18 of Anchorage, by his name and date of birth. A records check revealed Lehman-Jennings's operator's license was in a revoked status and Lehman-Jennings and had an ignition interlock device requirement. A check of the vehicle revealed that no ignition interlock device was installed. Lehman-Jennings was placed under arrest, transported to the Seward City Jail, and remanded. Bail was set at $1,000.00. Investigation revealed Perrill did not have insurance on the vehicle and was operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol. The vehicle was stated to be headed north bound out of Seward on the Seward Highway. Bureau of Highway Patrol and Crown Point based Troopers responded and located the vehicle at mile 14 of the Seward Highway. The driver was identified as Mackenzie Dallmann, 20 years old, of Soldotna. Investigation revealed that Dallmann had been in possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. Investigation also revealed that Dallmann had pointed the weapon at the two victims while driving northbound on the highway. In an attempt to contact the individual a foot pursuit ensued. The male was captured and identified as Zachary Pearce, 23 years old, of Wasilla. Text: On 7/5/10 at 0023 hours, a Cooper Landing based State Trooper arrested 19 year old Hunter Beling of Anchorage, after he jumped into the roadway, directly into the lane of oncoming traffic. Beling then attempted to flee on foot and was contacted a short time later. Further investigation revealed Beling had been consuming alcohol while under the age of 21, and court documents revealed Beling had two prior MCA convictions making this a habitual. Beling was transported to the Seward Jail and remanded on the above charges. A male was located in the woods at mile three with a firearm, in close proximity to several tents and campers. The male was identified as Jesse Cook, 20 years old of Kenai. Investigation revealed that Cook had discharged the firearm at the ground, while intoxicated , in close proximity to several campers on Exit Glacier Road. Cook was arrested and remanded to Seward jail on two counts of MIW 4 and one count of MCA. A Crown Point based Trooper responded and observed Perri holding a male down in the middle of the road. The male was identified as Jeremia Oksoktaruk, 21 years old, of Seward. Investigation revealed that Oksoktaruk was intoxicated and had struck Perri in the face with his fist. The caller reported that all of the occupants had made it to shore and were wet and cold. One of the occupants had sustained non life threatening injuries. An investigation showed that the 6 people and camping gear had been on a 14 foot boat in heavy swells. Life jackets were available but the passengers did not wear them. Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers and Cooper Landing EMS medics responded and retrieved the party. The people were identified as Thomas Donaldson (27 of Anchorage), Rachael Donaldson (26 of Anchorage), Megan Reider (26 of Anchorage), Lauren Nance (23 of Anchorage), Alison Lehmkuhl (23 of Anchorage), and Hollie Cooper (26 of Colorado).
