Investigation revealed David M. Dammann age 32 of Wasilla, was driving northbound waving a pistol, near mile 67 of the Parks Highway. Dammann pulled into a driveway to turn around and backed into the ditch. Dammann was arrested for driving while impaired and under the influence and misconduct involving weapons IV. Wilson, 21 YOA of Fairbanks, had assaulted her boyfriend by scratching and biting him. Wilson was arrested for Assault 4th and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center. Investigation revealed that Zoran Tokalich, age 38 of Anchorage, was traveling northbound in a 2011 Kenworth tractor trailer when a moose entered the road; Tokalich attempted to avoid the moose, but was unsuccessful and crashed with the moose. The moose died during the crash. Tokalich was properly restrained and did not sustain any injuries. The vehicle was disabled with substantial damage. Investigation revealed Shasta Miller, age 22 of Anchorage was calling in behalf of Kelsey Gray, age 28 of Anchorage, and Dane Ketner, age 25 of Anchorage. The two men were injured after falling when their climbing rope snagged a rock causing it to fall and strike Gray in the chest, then causing them to fall down. Ketner sustained a laceration to his shin and injured his ankle. AST Helo 1 and a State Parks Officer responded to the scene and transported Kelsey Gray to Providence Alaska Medical Center for treatment. Helo 1 returned to the area to transport the other two subjects out of the area to Flattop parking lot. Gray denied further medical treatment. The AST Bureau of Highway Patrol South Central team responded to the area and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near the intersection of Knik Goose Bay Road and Edlund Road. The driver was identified as Cody E. Tanner, age 51 of Palmer. Investigation determined Tanner had operated his vehicle while impaired by alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and transported to the Mat-Su Pre Trial facility where bail was set at $5000 with a Court Approved Third Party requirement.
