Investigation revealed that the driver, Leila Pelch, age 17, of Palmer, was traveling North on Bains Jordan Drive, when she lost control of her Polaris 400 4-Wheeler, went off the road and collided into several trees. Pelch was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries. The ATV was driven away from the scene. The damages are estimated at $800.00. Pelch was issued a citation for off highway vehicle operation on highway and other locations. Investigation revealed that 21 year old Franke M. Derrick of Wasilla was driving under the influence while still having conditions of release. Investigation revealed Webb had an outstanding arrest warrant in the state of Oregon for 3 counts of Sodomy in the 1st degree with bail set at $250,000. Subsequently, Garnand was arrested for Reckless Endangerment (x3) and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (x3) as investigators found Garnand and three of her children inside of a home, on Shenandoah Drive, near Palmer, where a meth lab was discovered on 7-6-10. In addition to the meth lab, drugs and drug paraphernalia were located in the children's bedrooms of the residence. Garnand was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where she was held in lieu of $1,500, plus CATP. Investigation revealed that Shane Sweet, age 57 of Kodiak, was traveling northbound, in a blue 2003 Ford pick-up, approaching Melnitsa Lane. Sean Costello, age 26 of Kodiak, was traveling northbound on Rezanof Drive, in a green 2003 Volkswagen sedan with his 3YOA daughter. Costello was attempting to turn left onto Melnitsa Lane. Sweet attempted to pass Costello's vehicle on the left and struck Costello's vehicle. Investigation further revealed that Sweet was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Sweet was arrested and remanded at Kodiak Jail for DUI with a set bail $500. All of the occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured. Sweet's vehicle was released to a licensed driver and both vehicles were driven from the scene. STEINHOEFEL created a disturbance at several locations in Denali, assaulted a male resident of Denali, and took property from Denali National Park. Additional investigation revealed that STEINHOEFEL was also responsible for the theft of a Subaru passenger vehicle in Fairbanks on or about 07-07-10. The vehicle has been recovered by the owner. The investigation revealed that a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup, driven by Karl J. Peterson, 37 YOA of Fairbanks, while westbound on Steele Creek Rd. lost control of the pickup, skidded off of the roadway, overturned down a steep embankment then came to rest on its top. Damage to the pickup was estimated at $4000. Peterson fled the scene prior to AST arrival, returned home and failed to notify the nearest police agency of the crash. Peterson was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and reported no injuries. Peterson was cited for Reckless Driving and Failure to Give Immediate Notice of an Accident. Investigation found that Vern McConnell, 88 of Fairbanks, was traveling west on the Steese Hwy approaching the Elliott Hwy intersection in his 2008 GMC Yukon. With him were passengers Richard Stringer, 83, and Beverly Stringer, 76, both of Fairbanks. McConnell failed to yield to, and was struck by, a 1995 Ford Pickup drivin, by Erik Johnson 25 of Fairbanks, who was traveling north on the Steese Hwy. With Johnson was Timothy Krotzer 39 of Fairbanks. The Yukon entered the North West Ditch and overturned entrapping McConnell. The driver was identified as Thomas Joseph Boor, (37 YOA of Anchorage). Investigation showed Boor was driving a motor vehicle at a time when his driver's license was revoked. Boor was notified to appear in court and was cited for the moving violation. The driver of the vehicle (1997 Nissan Pathfinder) was identified as Nancy Hoffman (44 YOA of Seward). Investigation revealed Hoffman was not licensed to operate the class of motor vehicle she was driving. Hoffman was cited for not wearing a seatbelt. Hoffman is scheduled to appear in court for operating a motor vehicle when she did not have a valid operator's license. Ms. Reamer was arrested in Palmer at the Palmer Courthouse for Failure to Report to Jail to serve three days on the original charge of DUI, DWLR and ASAP violation. Ms. Reamer was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial and remanded into custody with no bail.
