Investigation revealed that Seth had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of driving in violation of an instructional permit. Fedotov's next of kin was on scene and the State Medical Examiners Office responded and secured Fedotov's body. No foul play is expected and the investigation is continuing. Investigation revealed Keith T. Reed, age 18, of Anchorage, was hiking with two companions and fell off an embankment into the Nelchina River. The two companions were identified as, Jeremiah Crawford, 22 of Wasilla and Tyler Duncan, 20 of Wasilla. Reed was pulled down into a whirlpool and was unable to get out of the river. His two companions attempted to rescue Reed, risking their own safety by jumping in the river but were unsuccessful. AST's attempts to recover Reed have not been successful thus far. AST is continuing recovery efforts. Reed's next of kin have been notified. Investigation revealed that the pilot, 62 year old George Strother of Wasilla, flipped his LAKE-LA-4-200 amphibious plane in the lake and sustained serious but not life threatening injuries. AST located the vehicle and contacted the driver 33 year old Joshua Welsh of Anchorage. Welsh was subsequently arrested for Reckless Driving after investigation revealed he was traveling at a high rate of speed, and caused other motorist to take evasive action to avoid a collision. During the initial contact Welsh, he failed to inform the Trooper he had a weapon located next to him. Welsh was transported to and remanded at the Seward Jail without incident.
