A Detachment Location: Ketchikan Case number: 10-67067 Type: Possession of Child Pornography, Tampering with Physical Evidence. Text: On 7/21/2010 at 2131 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a hidden camera that was discovered wired into a teenager's room at a residence on Strawberry Road, which transmitted to a video recorder in a separate part of the house. When confronted by the complainant about the hidden camera, Jose Diorec III, age 35 of Ketchikan, reportedly grabbed the video cassette, destroyed it, and threw the film into the woods. Troopers responded, and a subsequent investigation lead to Diorec's arrest for possession of child pornography and tampering with physical evidence. Diorec was remanded to Ketchikan Corrections Center without incident. He has no bail. Troopers responded and investigation revealed that approximately $3200 in cash and a $1200 chainsaw was stolen from the store sometime between July 16th 2010 and July 21st 2010. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Christopher J. Gately, age 32, of Palmer. Investigation revealed Gately was driving a 1983 Subaru GL, eastbound on Schrock Road. Gately drove off the south side of the road where his vehicle struck several trees and came to rest. Gately was wearing his seat belt and received injuries. Gately was transported to MRMC for treatment of his injuries. Gately's vehicle was estimated to be a total loss. Investigation is on going. The driver of a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville identified as Bradley R. Richards, age 24, of Wasilla was turning onto Knik Goose Bay Road from Clapp Road when his vehicle was struck in the drivers side by a 2008 Ford Focus being driven by Gerald C. Jeffrey, age 57, of Big Lake. Jeffrey reported minor injuries in the collision. Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts and the damage to both vehicles is estimated at $5,000. Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene and contacted Jesse Beebe, age 51, of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Beebe was driving a commercial vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Beebe was arrested for DUI and later refused to submit to a chemical test of his breath. Beebe was remanded into Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held on $1000.00 bail. Upon arrival the residence of Antone Johnson was fully engulfed. The St. Mary's Fire Department, with the assistance of local residents, was able to control the blaze and extinguish the fire. The interior of the residence was completely destroyed. No injuries were reported. The fire was believed to have been started by a clothes dryer that was running in the residence just prior to the blaze. Witnesses reported seeing a shirtless male struggle in the water before going under and never seen again. AST, the Kenai Police Department, Central Emergency Services, State Parks and a trooper helicopter searched the area without finding the man or obtaining his identification. So far, no one has been reported missing. The man was described as between the ages of 25-37 with dark hair and a mole on his face. The call was reported to AST by third party at approximately 5:50 p.m. The victim reports the male was driving a silver/blue early 90s/late 80s boxy 4x4 type vehicle possibly an older Jeep Cherokee. The white male suspect is in his late 20s or early 30s, is 6' or 6'1" with light brown hair, muscular build and was wearing gray T-shirt and jeans. The suspect should have a left eye wound after the victim stuck her thumb in his eye during the struggle. The suspect male had attempted to force the female into his vehicle using a knife. The female fought off the attack and drove away from the scene towards Anchorage. She was treated at an Anchorage medical facility for non-life threatening knife wounds and was released. The passenger, Elmer Bungay, 40 YOA from Anchorage was issued a citation for failing to record his personal use salmon on his permit. Carlos Flores, age 53, of Anchorage, was arrested by the Anchorage Police Department for a felony DUI on 07/14/10; he was remanded at the Anchorage Jail. On 07/16/10, Flores attempted to commit suicide in his cell. Flores was transported to Providence medical center where he succumbed to his self inflicted injuries on 07/18/10.
