Crane Road near Snow Peak Road in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that a passenger in vehicle, Dave Howard JR, age 22 of Tok, was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Failure to Appear for calendar call on the original charge of Theft in the Second Degree. Howard was arrested and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility in Palmer where he is currently being held without bail. Stephen Fidler, age 18 of Wasilla, was driving a red 1995 Mazda 2 door west bound on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway near Shennum. Fidler's vehicle rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped for slow traffic. This caused two other vehicles to impact each other in the west bound lane. A passenger in Fidler's vehicle was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center by EMS and treated for minor injuries. Two of the four vehicles involved received major damage. No other injuries were reported at the scene. A F250 Ford truck was westbound on Airport Road when the driver, Darryl C. Knutson, age 48, of Fairbanks, ran a steady red light. Steven D. James, age 23, of Fairbanks was driving south on University Ave through a steady green light in his 1994 Volvo when he was struck on the driver side by Knutson. James was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and then released. Knutson was arrested for DUI after failing several field sobriety tests. A drug recognition expert from the Bureau of Highway Patrol was called in to conduct further tests. Knutson was then remanded to FCC on the charges of Assault III and DUI. Knutson was additionally issued a citation for running a red light. The Volvo was totaled and the F250 sustained reparable damage. Text: On 7/22/10 at 1620 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers on aircraft patrol documented the F/V High Octane commercial fishing in closed waters, .1nm north of the Egegik North boundary line. While attempting to document the violation and identity of the vessel the skipper, later identified as Tim Allen Vardy, 55 yoa of Lakewood, Washington and a crewmember, later identified as John R. Lane of Morro Bay, CA, attempted to conceal the identity of the vessel by covering its ADF&G numbers with their bodies and a coat. Investigation revealed that Nuxall had failed to log 10 salmon on his personal use permit. Nuxall had taken the fish in the Kenai personal use fishery on 07-25-10. Nuxall was issued a citation with bail set at $110. Investigation revealed that Levy had harvested 38 red salmon at the dip net fisheries in the mouth of the Kenai River and failed to record them on his personal use permit. Levy was issued a citation for failing to record the salmon on his personal use permit. Bail was set at $110.00. Author: J. Investigation revealed that Ison had been snagging for salmon using a weighted treble hook and also had harvested 11 red salmon over his sport fishing limit. Ison was issued citations for attempting to snag and for over limit. Bail was set at $440.00. Author: J. Text: On 7/22/10 at 1620 hours, King Salmon Wildlife Troopers on aircraft patrol documented the F/V High Octane commercial fishing in closed waters, .1nm north of the Egegik North boundary line. While attempting to document the violation and identify the vessel the skipper, later identified as Tim Allen Vardy, 55 yoa of Lakewood, Washington and a crewmember, later identified as John R. Lane of Morro Bay, CA, attempted to conceal the identity of the vessel by covering its ADF&G numbers with their bodies and a coat. On 7/28/10 AWT located and contacted the F/V High Octane in the Naknek River and issued the following citations: -Tim Allen Vardy - Commercial Fish Closed Waters, Hindering Prosecution 2, Fail to Properly Display Dual Vessel ADF&G numbers. -Linda Sue Vardy, 47 yoa of Lakewood, WA - Commercial Fish Closed Waters. -John R. Lane - Hindering Prosecution 2. Arraignments for all persons were set for August 20th in Naknek Court.
